This will certainly a pose a question about Bethune-Cookman's future. They're now completely on an island without their sole rival. Given the school's financial struggles, it would seem like a move to the A-Sun (or to D-2) would be in their best interest.

The loss of FAMU is a huge blow to the MEAC. It might also be a big blow to the UAC scheme.

The future of a lot of MEAC schools could be up in the air, especially if they suffer another loss of a member.

What if FAMU votes NO on the SWAC and then turns around and votes YES on the ASUN at a later time?

If it’s made it’s way all the way to a board vote it’s probably a formality at this point.

Again, it wouldnt be a blow to the UAC.

They are not what the UAC is going after.

They are not a tight geographic fit.

Parameters for the UAC is,

Public, State funded university (check)
Tight geographic footprint (non check)

I dont see the SWAC taking FAMU and not B-C.

Huge rivals

Good market

The SWAC would be even with 12.

B-C is the weaker sister and they are further away. The SWAC can easily schedule the way the Big Ten did with 11–everyone gets 2 protected rivals and they cycle through the other 8, skipping 2 per year.
