A little surprised they didn't throw the eastern teams a bone and give one of the next 3 years to FAU/FIU or Charlotte. I realize you've got to put a bid in for it and have a desire to host it which is probably the reason that the 3 listed (LT, USM, RICE) are hosting as there's probably not another school that would come close to the minimum bid. Regardless, 3 great venues will get to host the next 3.

Our facility sucks...Top 5 priority to change. Hopefully soon.

if it's split into 6 east and 6 west there would need to be 3 cross over series to get 24 games (8 series) wouldn't it?

He's saying 12 games against normal divisional foes then 6 games (2 series) against your closest conference mate. Then 6 games against cross-division.

Yup. So y'all will play two series (home/away) against Tech.

Thanks for the clarification for me. After rereading it a few times I got it.
So the repeat series would be:
UTSA vs Rice - 3 hr 15 min drive
La Tech vs USM - 3 hr 30 min drive
UAB vs MT - 2 hr 50 min drive
FIU vs FAU - 55 min drive
WKU vs Marshall - 4 hr drive to/from Huntington
ODU vs Charlotte - 4 hr 55 min drive

I would say mission accomplished for reduced travel costs. For USM all the west schools (Rice, LT, UAB and MT) minus UTSA for baseball are driving distance.

I will miss you guys...have been to every FAU-Charlotte game. I like your campus, and the tennis facility is better to see in person.
