In the videos I saw, Shy seemed to let his play do the talking. Image didn't seem to say much either

2020-2021 Men's basketball season
I wasn’t referring to just UNCW athletes, but athletes in general.
Allow me to add a couple quotes from the article (neither of which are UNCW students, thankfully). Hopefully it will provide better context to my thoughts when watching, listening, and reading articles like this.
“It be hot in there. But it be intense in there. People be going after each other. We be going after it in there.” (Samage Teel)
“If you’re in The Dungeon, you’re in here to work. If you’re in The Dungeon, you really want to play ball. There’s no air in here. It’s hot. We be getting after it. We be sweating. The court gets wet. It’s very important. It keeps a basketball tie with the city. It builds a great bond between all of us.” (Justin Wright)
Look, I’m extremely happy for these guys. Each and every one of them are living their dream and going to play D1 college ball, and likely some level of pro ball if they keep working hard. That’s a great thing for NC. However, that doesn’t excuse what is obviously an indictment on the NC public education system. When you have guys about to be attending D1 colleges for free and they sound like they just walked out of 5th grade, that’s a problem. Our public school system needs to do better. Sadly, this isn’t just a NC problem. It’s not just a basketball player problem. It’s a national problem because we don’t invest in students equally from the home, the schools and supporting communities. Respect for our future demands that we ensure our future generations will be able to speak without being scoffed at. That the words they speak won’t be diluted or disrespected due to an inability to speak the basics of the language. Our schools, communities, and homes must do better. When we see one portion of that equation falter, we must uplift it by respectfully assisting it instead of just casually excusing it.
And yes, I think Dodd and Phillips sounded much more professional, and let their work on the court speak for them. Hoping those guys have a great sophomore season.

Much of that is basketball vernacular, but I understand where you’re coming from.

Go back and listen to interviews of college basketball players in the 80's.

What is the latest? I read that all fall sports are pushed to the spring for now.
So are we still good for fall/winter start for basketball or no?
I’m pretty convinced at this point they’ll find a reason to push the basketball start back too.

The NCAA can't afford 2 years without that March Madness money

I’m not saying they won’t have the tournament. I’m asking about the actual season.
Also, don’t doubt the NCAA’s potential to limit the size of the tournament this year and potentially block out mid majors from the tournament. Wouldn’t surprise me one bit to see them capitalize on the opportunity.

I think that zoom meeting was probably meant more as a way to get both the current players and alumni players excited about the upcoming season. There's really no other plausible explanation for it. Not like alumni players have any sort of contribution or control over the current plight of NCAA sports, etc.
In that aspect, it probably went well. Coach Siddle seems like the kind of guy that has a natural ability to build excitement in a program. I think steps like this are important for that. Giving the current players buy-in to the history of the program. Not only just telling them about it, but including those legend UNCW ballers on an intimate level with them to build that personal connection and motivation to make it great again.
I can't see any way that the zoom meeting could have been bad barring technical issues?

Hmmm, I wonder how this will affect our non-conference schedule. Any insights? I sincerely hope the non-D1 games are off the docket.

RE: 2020-2021 Men's basketball season
If there are no changes here are the games now off the books
November 5, 2020 (Thursday) vs. Montreat (Exhibition)
November 10, 2020 (Tuesday) @ Wake Forest
November 16, 2020 (Monday) @ East Carolina
November 20, 2020 (Friday) vs. Navy (MTE)
November 21, 2020 (Saturday) vs. Gardner-Webb (MTE)
November 22, 2020 (Sunday) vs. Morgan State (MTE)
Here is the remainder of the non conference schedule
November 29, 2020 (Sunday) @ Charlotte
December 7, 2020 (Monday) vs. Georgia Southwestern
December 9, 2020 (Wednesday) vs. Mount Olive
December 12, 2020 (Saturday) @ Mississippi
December 15, 2020 (Tuesday) @ UNC
December 21, 2020 (Monday) @ Campbell
December 29, 2020 (Tuesday) vs. St. Andrews
I'm going to guess the MTE with Navy and the others is DOA
I would scrap 2 of the 3 non D1 games and get that check from Wake and ECU

The away games are stellar, but that home schedule sucks!

I have to think our game will still be on given proximity. Will be interesting to see when schedules actually come out.

Its not official but it looks like a game with Navy this season is off the table
Also the previously posted non conference schedule has been completely removed
