Season Ticket Holder Zoom Meeting
I attended the meeting today for season ticket holders. I was a bit distracted with work so I didn't catch everything. Here are some things that I got out of it...

They gave some scheduling updates. It's hard to be too excited because I'm not sure if the season will start on time or if fans will be allowed to attend..
1. Bahamas tournament is still on. But they could move it to Ft. Myers based on possible travel restrictions.
2. As Dan10 mentioned earlier, they're planning to open up the season at Rhode Island.
3. Playing at Pitt on 12/15.
4. The most exciting news is that Bill Herrion and UNH will return to the DAC on December 5th. They may honor the 90's teams during the game or maybe have an event the night before to honor them.
5. LaSalle seems to be moving in another direction this year. Spiker said that he wants to play Penn but Coach Donahue doesn't seem too excited to return the favor right now. He said that he's willing to play any Philly teams, but trying to fit them into the schedule can be tough.

i'm so worried about a football season that i haven't even thought about basketball. if i had my doubts about the utility of our athletic department before...i sure as hell have them now. i read we got sued by a student about the quality of only education. we have big...and costly...fishes to fry that i feel like could have big impacts on sports.

RE: Season Ticket Holder Zoom Meeting
I really am not worried about winter sports. Fall sports I think may be delayed or seasons shortened but will still happen. I have a hard time believing winter sports are remotely in jeopardy. College football due to training time seems to me to be the only real sport for fall to be in jeopardy. Obviously as the cash cow for many athletic departments, its important, but we shall see how other sports unfold.

It is nice to honor Herrion when he returns. That should definitely spike the attendance for a game and bring some old timers back. Smart move.

Not surprised Philly teams prefer other options. It benefits Drexel to play those teams, but has little upside to the other teams unless Drexel is really good.

Pitt is a pretty nice grab for a road game. So is Rhode Island. Glad we are stepping up and grabbing some better games. That should help us prepare for our conference, especially with our road woes. Hopefully very soon games like that can actually be winnable. Selfishly hoping we have a midwestern road game somewhere so I have a chance to attend. Obviously with all going on I would be surprised if we left the east coast for any game beyond the Bahamas tournament

i guess another positive quality about bruiser was his ability to schedule the philly teams. i think that's very important...others don't. honestly i don't care about new hampshire coming in. i wouldn't know who bill herrion was without people like jb. he could walk past me right now and i would have no idea.

so another criticism of our athletic department is we make no connection to the past. normal programs even in the high school levels honor great teams on a regular basis. i don't recall us ever doing anything like that.

i was listening to an interview with jay wright a couple weeks ago on wip. he was on for almost an hour with ray didinger and glen macnow (didinger is so good he makes macnow interesting and their saturday am show has been a light in the darkness of the pandemic). anyway...i didn't know how connected jay wright was to drexel...almost coming to play for us and i believe hired by us to coach at one point.

i don't bring this up for the obvious that we should have hired him when we had the chance. i was more bothered by how connected we were to the basketball culture in philly...and how completely disconnected we are right now. we might as well play our here in harrisburg. playing those teams is only part of it. if spiker doesn't end up working out...i would advocate for a guy with philly connections either as a coach or player.
