I should be forced to ignore entire threads? This was becoming a problem on AA. I spoke out on it and the mods righted the ship. There are ways to voice concerns with the NM leadership without being overtly political. There are ways to get your point across without any political rhetoric. It's actually very easy to do, but people want to get their digs in. They are actually choosing to be political.

As for the avatar, that has absolutely no place whatsoever on here, especially for a mod. I don't care if it was Trump, Biden or any other world leader. It is so completely unnecessary. I don't care one iota what any of you think about a politician, politics or anything like that. Zero.

I wrote the site owner and got lectured and accused of ultimatums. It turns out, you can hide people's signatures and avatars. It sure would have been nice if Crimson or the owner simply pointed out those features and left it at that. For those that are interested in those features, this is how you do it:

Click on your name > Edit Options > Display users' signatures in their posts
Click on your name > Edit Options > Display users' avatars in their posts

I suspected as much. I clicked on the site owners link a couple hours ago and got a look at his avatar and realized I was going to get the whole "freedom of expression" argument from him as well. Although nothing offensive, his avatar spelled out his views on having politics infused in avatars. I had not contacted SuperMod yet because I was hopeful given time our Moderator would decide to set the 'positive' tone by changing his Avatar and putting out a statement to "cease and desist" with infusing political views into our sports discussions. Contacting the SuperMod was going to be my last action later today; if needed. However, you confirmed what I already suspected before I made the effort.

As you said, when I took issue with CrimsonPhantom's overtly political avatar, it would have been nice if he had directed me to the features on how to block it out Avatar and Signatures. That removes one of my concern. I still think there is no room for politically divisiveness posts on a sports forum.

If you all don't hear from me for a while, assume that I got banned...

I hear you... Yup, I obviously have a differing point of view from those operating this site on what is acceptable on a Sport forum. I just want to come on this board and read about college sports. I really don't want to know your politics... just like I don't want to know your religion or whether you pee sitting down or standing up.

Depends on the day, tbh. 02-13-banana02-13-banana02-13-banana

RE: The Covid Effect
To be honest, I forgot about being able to turn off sigs and avatars.

As for this thread, I will be closing it tomorrow afternoon. Say 2PM, 3 the latest, MST. Unless this thread gets really nuts, you have till then to post.
