I did loudly denigrate the entire state of Texas when they were booting JMU fans for streamers during that spring playoff game. Those state troopers in the stadium heard me loud and clear as they passed us with their prey.

Soft does not even begin to describe those hypocrites. “We care so much about freedom….well except that guy throwing crepe paper…he needs to be jailed.”

That was plenty to hate them for life, but I got even more than that.
At the time we first played them, I used to visit opposing team's message boards pretty often. The stuff that they were posting over there was beyond hate. And it wasn't just a single poster. Way too many saying some really, really bad stuff. Not a single poster or mod did a damn thing about it, either.
And any interaction I've ever had (in person and online) has totally validated my dislike for them.
I'm sure they have some good fans out there, but the bad seem to massively outweigh the good.

There was a really good vinegar pecan pie at some country store type restaurant in Huntsville that I ate while there. So they’ve got that going for them, which is nice.

I keep getting excited to see new recruiting news. Guess I am looking in the wrong thread.

Didn’t the football signing period end on 4/1? I’m posting in this thread about some nonsense, but it’s 4/3…

Hopefully a PWO or he's just a late bloomer his other offers leave a lot to be desired.

RE: Football Recruiting
He's got a full year of high school football yet. There's not many athletic 6'3" 210 lb linebackers wandering the halls of high schools. My guess is they are projecting he starts getting G5 offers soon as he hits the camp circuit this summer. I'm fine with taking some chances, this staff has shown that they are good at identifying talent that is flying under the radar.

Just like the previous staff, I’ll trust they got in on an up and comer early. Kid seems to be a very good athlete that has speed and can pack some quality muscle to his frame and compete at this level.

Good size for a high school junior. It shouldn't be hard to pack 20 to 30 pounds of muscle on that frame over the next couple of years.

He kind of reminds me of the kid from Fredericksburg who used to play for JMU but followed the fool's gold to Indiana. I can't remember his name and don't care to look it up.

Or if he's quick enough, he might play the rover in our 4-2-5 defense. Would probably require a bit less weight to be added. Not sure if our defensive coaching staff is going to continue that base formation though.

Friend of mine grew up a huge Michigan fan and still frequents their boards. They were talking about Chris before we signed him. It might only be board talk, but I’ll take that as a good sign for his potential.

I don't know if they are talking about us as FCS, but the rest of the offers he has received were just FCS schools.

I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt, given all the other offers are FCS as you noted, but the screenshot shows the JMU commitment and the OP said "FCS only" and the OP reiterates Chris is better than FCS. So yeah, I believe OP thinks JMU is still FCS.

I want to give him the benefit of the doubt too because his post was before he committed to JMU and the embedded recruiting page didn’t have JMU listed at the time… but the JMU offer came a few days before the post too.

I’ll try to assume positive intent especially given all the publicity we’ve received the last two years. More importantly, let’s keep the commitments rolling

Suddenly he’s a 3* recruit, and despite verballing to JMU I’m sure the FBS offers will still come in.

This will start happening more often, guys will get offered and suddenly start going from no stars to 3*. Highlights how lazy these "recruiting experts" are.

5 years ago 3* recruits would have stars reduced when they signed with JMU. 03-lmfao
