I repeatedly ignored direct threats to be beaten by a very large man. Then I reminded him that it could cause a lot of trouble.

That's the same guy who members of this board routinely kissed his butt because his son was playing so well. Then he expresses an unpopular opinion and he gets turned on, told he's not really part of the program now anyway. You fools, it looks like you may have chased him away.

Holybovine to eagletough: "You're a fvcking clown. Don't come here to start shite and then play dumb when you get called on it. You're not affiliated with the university anymore anyway. Next."

That's about as stupid as it gets. Offend one of the few loyal fans we have. Next there's the possibility that it gets back to his son and he decides to stick with Dad. Goodbye positive PR. Maybe hello negative PR.

Crazy how perfectly this has turned out for the 'never let a crisis go to waste' crowd. Friends become foes, foes become friends. Neighbors and family turn on each other. Fear and paranoia spread.

Our founding fathers were so much wiser than all the smart guys that chirp and talk sh*t and hide behind their keyboards today. All you little Wickersham's would never say the same to my face.... fuc*kin cowards.

Benjamin Franklin said it best: "Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety."

Respect to you ljm even though we disagree 90% of the time.

Let the nonsense flow. The future is bright for those who choose to make it so.

To all the good guys on the board.....04-cheers It's been a hell of a ride!

Over & out

When you say over and out, I hope you mean it.
I thought that ******* would never leave. He has been an idiot for a very long time and I bet he embarrasses his son on a daily basis.

Bob, I do believe most of the EMU posters would label you as the most controversial member on this forum. To call ETough a mfer is classless. Personally I enjoyed EToughs insight on football! Yes Maxx was a superstar who has represented EMU great in the past and I’m sure will acknowledge his roots in the future. ETough will be back when there’s football underway and I will encourage him and all EMU fans to post here on this forum!

As long as it pertains to sports only ditto

Well said.

Parents of players are MVPs. ETough has been 100% TruEMU.

We had other player parents on this board TJ Lang Pudge Cotton and Alex Howie besides Maxx. All were extremely polite to all other posters on this board and true gentlemen. TJ Lang's dad was a real joy. I can't remember one political comment from anyone of them or even a harsh post towards another poster here.

Yeah, and at least one more, EagleAttack. Off the top of my head I can't associate the screen name with a player. Think he is the father of a DE (?). This was during English's time.

I always enjoyed Tough and his posts. Perhaps he over-reacted at times but I do not how severely I would have acted when other posters took cheap shots at my son.

I have done a fair number of PMs with him. He is very knowledgeable. Liked to compare notes with him.

Without these parents we would have very little if any actual accounts of what is happening with the team. We all like to think we know what is happening, but they hear it directly from their sons. It gives us the information that we are missing out on since there is not an EMU Football beat writer.

Amen. Mlive is pleading poverty and begging for $10/ month subscriptions. Hell I see better EMU sports coverage from the Detroit papers.

RE: 2020 Football Season in question
Man I've been away for awhile focusing on online learning. Came back to the most junior high (or reality TV show) drama fest.
All of it. Threatening to punch people, cursing each other, talking politics, blah-blah.
It was about playing football, and then it wasn't.
I have no desire to try and weed through all that mess to find rational points about supporting EMU.
See you all when the 1st practice opens up. Until then, you guys can scream at each other through keyboards all you want.

Justin Moody's dad was pure class. Never an unkind word to anyone. He let his son have the spotlight and he and I had many chats about many things as I had a son playing college football too at the same time.

RE: 2020 Football Season in question
Nice article by Detnews' John Niyo. Could the SEC or NCAA cancel the FB season without causing riots, uprisings, etc. in Alabama, S.Carolina, etc? How about in Columbus, OH with the Buckeye fans.

https://www.detroitnews.com/story/sports...064344001/

As Rick Rasnick told me, "In Alabama there are two seasons, the football season and spring ball." Everything else I guess is drudgery in AL.

What kind of guy was Rasnick?

I loved his offenses and teams. I feel like he would have won big if he ever received the kind of support football does now.

I met Rasnick only once and liked him.

I remember I was in town and went to a football luncheon. Think it was at McKinney. The FB player guest was Mr. Charlie Batch.

After the luncheon I put in my plug for the big 240 lb. FB from Purdue (forgot his name). (today a 240 lb. would be in the Smithsonian here in D.C.).

BTW, Charlie Batch and I walked from McKinney to Bowen together.

Good ole days...

EDIT: Anyone else remember Jerome Adams the big FB transfer from Purdue?

The NFL apparently plans to start on time and have 17 games.
