C'mon, I'm not a PC guy either but Burke didn't get "fired." He was not given the HC job when he took over. He was named interim coach to finish the rest of the season. Thats it. He wanted the HC job and was given a chance to interview for the open position. Im sure he had to fill out an application just like all the other candidates.

Siddle was named interim coach right after Keatts left for State. He wanted the job and I'm sure submitted an application. He was not chosen. He was hired as an assistant at State as a result. I wouldn't say he got "fired" either.

Apples to oranges. One was part of a staff that got let go(fired) one wasn’t

I wouldn't say he got fired. He just didn't get the job. Great guy and very passionate about the game. I was actually surprised that he came onto the staff as a DOBO with his resume.
He will land on his feet. Jackie will too. Not so sure about Esleeck.

Call it whatever you want but they all lost their jobs and somebody else will be doing that job. That is not being laid off that is being replaced. I think Burke should be the headcoach and his staff should still be working but sadly they are all looking for a job. I do think they will all get jobs but right now has to a little scary for these guys.

I don't disagree with you, my comment was aimed at the person that compared the Siddle situation 3 years ago to Burke.

Coach Burke just made a pretty heart felt message concerning his father on his Instagram page. Doesn’t sound like good news for their family.

Maybe you could start up a thread that we could post to to pass along encouragement to Rob and his family, he indicated he reads message and posts to his dad and his dad enjoys hearing them

Awful news. At least his dad had a chance to see him lead a DI team. I know he was proud of his son. RIP.

My sympathy and best wishes to the Burkes. Like others, I am glad that Rob's father did live to see him as a D1 head coach. Peace to the Burke family.
