My favorite moment was when the Huskies took the field at the Orange Bowl. The place was hopping with Huskie faithful and my school pride was through the roof. It felt like a Super Bowl.
Same for me. There were more Huskie fans than I had ever seen in one place. Outshone any of the Soldier Field games.
Also, a lot of fun when we turned Dyche Stadioum red, then won the game.

RE: Favorite Huskie Moments???
Snapping the losing streak against Central Michigan back in 1998. I was doing my student teaching at the time and no longer living in Dekalb. I remember the Huskies were winning at halftime (Comcast Sports) and I jumped in my car and drove the hour to be a part of it. I helped carry the goal post to the Lagoon and was one of the knuckleheads that swam the goal post out to the middle of the Lagoon.
Wins over Iowa, Nebraska, and Northwestern were pretty special too.

I've had plenty of thrills watching NIU football for last 50 years, but the dunk Terry Green made against DePaul in '79 at Chick Evans remains the defining moment for me.

Watching on TV, it is the 2018 MAC Championship game. I still have it saved on my TV so that I can replay Sutton Smith's last sack in that game. The way he came flying out of nowhere to bring down Tyree Jackson. That was a thing of beauty.
That BG game was underrated. Fantastic game. Beat Urban Meyer - after the game he said that the team was intimidated coming into Huskie Stadium with how loud it was. Might have been the first time I remember thundersticks at an NIU game, but I could be wrong.
For me, the 2003 Maryland game and just experiencing the Orange Bowl (tailgating, seeing NIU take the field, seeing our end zone painted with a BCS emblem next to it, TLL shimmy on the sideline, our TD - never will forget that experience).

Definitely. The Maryland game was the most electrifying game I’ve been to. The Orange Bowl was the best experience ever. We stayed at the team hotel (Fontainebleau) and were in the bus entourage to the stadium. We had a police escort all the way to the stadium. The police blocked traffic like we were part of a presidential visit. What a thrill!

TJ Lux hits a 35-foot buzzer-beater to defeat Wisconsin at Chick Evans Field House. December, 1999. Students rushed the floor.

RE: Favorite Huskie Moments???
I have a lot of great Huskie memories, but for me the 1983 season is my best memories. I loved college football growing up. However, since that was in north central New Jersey it was hard to get behind a local team. If you think Rutgers is bad now, back then I’m not sure what division they were in, but their big rivalry game was against Colgate. I moved out here in 1983 and started at NIU College of Law. Since I was hungry for college football, the 1983 Huskies didn’t disappoint! I loved the coach (Mallory), the hard-nosed football the team played, and of course winning the MAC for the first time and then topped off by the California bowl win was great and made me a Huskier for life!

The BGSU game in 02 was the birth of Thunderstix, wasn't it? I wish there was a MAC Network to reair that game. Would be awesome to rewatch that one.
