NCAA President Mark Emmert's statement on limiting attendance at NCAA events
March 11, 2020 4:29pm

Quote:The NCAA continues to assess the impact of COVID-19 in consultation with public health officials and our COVID-19 advisory panel. Based on their advice and my discussions with the NCAA Board of Governors, I have made the decision to conduct our upcoming championship events, including the Division I men’s and women’s basketball tournaments, with only essential staff and limited family attendance. While I understand how disappointing this is for all fans of our sports, my decision is based on the current understanding of how COVID-19 is progressing in the United States. This decision is in the best interest of public health, including that of coaches, administrators, fans and, most importantly, our student-athletes. We recognize the opportunity to compete in an NCAA national championship is an experience of a lifetime for the students and their families. Today, we will move forward and conduct championships consistent with the current information and will continue to monitor and make adjustments as needed.

Will the ACC allow fans in its tournament tomorrow? They’re already entering tonight.

What happens to fans who have purchased Final Four tickets on line thru services like StubHub?

The payment per win better go down this year.

The NCAA better reimburse up to face value plus fees for any tickets bought in the secondary market

Carolina bowed out at the right time. Good job, Heels. Glad this wreck is over.

A friend of mine bought court side NBA seats to see Lebron play. He paid $400 a ticket on StubHub. I guess he's out of luck.

Still scratching my head over the game. Wonder if Cole Anthony might stay one more year? He didn't look good yesterday.

Yeah that kid was the match that started to light up the Cuse up at the Dome. Shocked the results last night, but happy. Ole Roy has had JB's number and is the only coach who has ever beaten JB nine straight times.

UPDATE: The Big Ten, Big XII, SEC and Pac-12 Tournaments are also cancelled, as are the AAC, Big East, A-10, and others (probably all, but I didn't bother to confirm).
