Same. I still use one of his quotes, to this day: Feelings are not debatable.

I believe coach's funeral was held today. A memorial service was being planned later (I forget when)... but probably much later now.

So Coach and others lined Godwin Field and the first game was played there. Maybe without goal posts. I am not sure about that. We did not score a point that year but tied one game.

Undefeated in year 4 and then we started the transition to division 1. Beat UVA in year 10 I think. He did a great job and did it with integrity. His last couple of years the injury bug hit the team hard and Uncle Ron wanted to make a change. It was a tough blow to be fired after starting it from scratch and having a lot of successful years. But he regrouped and handle it with class and made a career change within JMU. And has been a huge part of JMU football. I am very thankful for all he has done for JMU and Harrisonburg.
God bless Coach McMillin.

There were goal posts. The field by Godwin was already our practice field and we had them there for practice. Lost 6 - 0 to Shepherd College who scored on a screen pass late in the game and then missed their extra point. Madison got down to the 5 but could not push it in as would be true for that entire season. Coach McMillin was a remarkable man in every way and someone of whom JMU can truly be proud.
