A little bit of a head scratcher IMO.

What a shame that would be if the CAA did so
Also this is not over. I fully expect others will follow suit. The first four games in Dayton have already announced they will be played in empty an empty arena.

I would hope any others would play in an empty arena before they would cancel completely. Tightly packing several thousand people into an arena is maybe not the best idea right now, but that doesn't mean the players, coaches, refs, etc. can't play the game.
Not really suprising with the Ivys though. They don't participate in the FCS tourney, at least for the stated reason that it distracts from classes/finals, but still participate in all the other postseasons. I realize [potentially] multiple weekends is different than a single 3-4 day stretch, but if any conference was going to do this, it's the Ivys.

The Ivy was the last conference to even have a postseason tourney. Not surprising they're the first one to opt out. Everyone else seems to be going along pretty much as per normal, judging from what I saw while dial-flipping last night (men's CAA, Horizon, and Northeast). All looked like full house finals.

Ivy is not smart enough to play in the FCS playoff either.

The Ivies have officially cancelled ALL SPRING SPORTS. I just...I'm at a loss. No fans for basketball (or other super-high attended indoor sports) is one thing, but most spring sports are outdoors and are played with one or two dozen players and a few coaches. Not having 10k people in a basketball arena basically sitting on top of each other for 3 hours is one thing. Cancelling all of your outdoor sports I can't see as anything short of ridiculous.
EDIT: I guess the main reason is because students at some schools will be doing all classes online, so they may not be near campus. Buuuuut they're student athletes. They can be an exception and stay near campus even if not in campus dorms.

Harvard sent all their students away without making provisions for international students who had no place to go and couldn't go home. OOPSY! They had to scramble...... And you thought these places were full of smart folks!
