Did anyone but DavidSt read the link yet though?

EDIT: I have now read the link. CIAA says there's no talk of MEAC members moving down. She hopes the MEAC "is able to sustain what they have and maybe bring in somebody new", but hopes it isn't one of her schools.

They also said that MEAC schools could have a home in the CIAA when more schools leave the conference.

SIAA in the meantime could get three of their schools merged into one in Georgia and be renamed Georgia A&M.

It's SIAC, Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. The SIAA is a dead conference with members now in SEC, ACC, and Big12.

Cite? Georgia loves merging institutions, but I see nothing about this on Google. Georgia A&M is only a made up HBCU for a TV show.

It is true. David's caught wind of a plot to elevate Georgia A&M and Wossamotta U to Division 1 next year.

SC State isn't going to drop to D2. Dropping to D2 and joining the CIAA wouldn't help their financial problems, which are primarily on the academic side and not athletics, because it takes away the opportunity for FBS buy games.

I'm not convinced that Albany State and Fort Valley State make sense for a merger. Certainly including Savannah State does not when you look at it on a map. Not unless you're just intending to create a system that oversees the three campuses.

Quote:“Who knows?” McWilliams asked. “Schools make decisions whether they want to come or go. Right now, I think we’re pretty stable. I think our schools love being in this conference and love being in Division II. That’s the bigger thing. It’s a lot of resources to manage when you’re moving from conference to conference and division to division, so from my understanding, our board is very happy about being here but always wants to talk about the opportunity to expand.”

It is an open ending meaning in the last paragraph after the paragraph before talking about Hampton and NC A&T leaving and FLAM going to SWAC which makes it an open invite to MEAC.

Bowie State, Augusta and Virginia State As Possible Candidates To Expand

This article have both Virginia State and Bowie State as rumored as a MEAC expansion schools, and suggested on adding a none HBCU to join like Augusta. Augusta is already an affiliate. Augusta may have the funding to go D1 than the other 2 right now.

Article Mention A Super Conference Of All 4 HBCU Conferences At D1 and D2

The question was for you to provide a source about three Georgia HBCUs merging. You quote from the CIAA-MEAC article, link to a pipe dream MEAC expansion idea, and another link to a waste of time HBCU super conference article from 3 years ago. None of that has anything to do with this Georgia A&M idea that has already been turned down once.
