After Friday nights decisive beat down over Drexel the Dukes are back home on Sunday for the last home game at the Convo vs Delaware. Duke Dog Reading Day and Senior Day so I am looking for a great crowd to properly honor Kimiah, Lexie, Kayla, Devon and Jackie. make sure you are there so we can properly ROOT the Dukes to a victory and acknowledge our Senior Class.

Go Dukes!!

Senior recognition is generally about 1:35 or so, so get there early to give the seniors the proper celebration. Should be a great day!!

Crown Club is holding a reception after the game to honor our seniors. All are invited. Each of the seniors gets a chance to speak so bring your tissues!! Hopefully some of the alums are in town and will be there as well.

That’s a rough first quarter.

Never tell what to expect on Senior Day

Still very confident we win this one easily.

JMU leads at the half 30-27, but only 4 points for JMU in the first qtr.? I don’t think the women were mentally ready to play this game.

The women are going to see a lot of full court press in the tournament. They really struggle to break it.

They started slow and couldn't hit any shots, but they woke up quickly. Looks like they will win by a decent margin to close out the Convo with a win.

When your star player's bawling her eyes out during the pregame senior recognition, you can expect that first quarter to be a tough one and it was. In fact the entire game had an anticipatory feel to it, with seniors in the band, cheerleaders, and Dukettes being recognized throughout the game and then the alumni WBB players with Sheila Moorman pulling that last number of the countdown. It was almost as if the game itself was secondary to all the other stuff going on. I was just happy to get a win of any description.

RE: WBB vs Delaware 3/1/20
Anybody know why Delaware's Nicole Enabosi got a T?

There were some funny moments with her down under the JMU basket in the second half. Rayne Tucker is a master of the "not in my house!" glare and Enabosi got it more than once. I thought Rayne did a pretty good job on her. In fact, she had a good game overall.

After a non call she thought she should have gotten she started mouthing off to the ref she was complaining to about not getting the call. Ref listened for a bit and then pulled the T. As a Sr she should have known better and let it go but it helped the Dukes big time in the second half.

RE: WBB vs Delaware 3/1/20
Just got home from an emotional Senior Day game and reception. I chalk up the inconsistent play to nerves and emotions. We certainly saw both in the senior speeches. Each of our seniors is leaving a very specific footprint on the program that may never be seen again. It was fun and sad all at the same time but what we do know is that we will miss them deeply.

I fully expect to see the focus return for next week's game at Elon and W&M.

Hopefully that was the last game at the convocation center. I'm throwing away my post season parking pass as insurance. It was one to remember. This is a great senior class and I hope they have a bunch of games left to play!!

This was a super special senior class. In all my years of following WBB, both at Tennessee and here, I don't think I've seen one like it. These are five very special young women.
