Athens bringing the heat to the Fulmer Cup Competition
Quote:Georgia defensive lineman Devonte Wyatt was arrested late Tuesday night on a misdemeanor charge of family violence criminal trespass.

Wyatt, a senior from Decatur, Georgia, was still being held at the Athens-Clarke County Jail on Wednesday. His bond was set at $1,500.

...

According to a UGA Police Department incident report obtained by ESPN, a person called 911 on Friday and told police that a man and woman were arguing outside of a dormitory.

"During the argument, [the woman] left Wyatt's Room in Vandiver Hall and returned her dorm in McWhorter Hall," the incident report said. "Wyatt followed behind and kicked her exterior apartment door multiple times from the hallway, damaging the door and forcing it open."

...

He played one season at Hutchinson Community College in Kansas before transferring to Georgia in 2018.

Whew, that's a relief, for a moment I was worried this was about Athens, Ohio.

Is the Fulmer Cup an SEC-only thing like SEC Player of the Year, or is it a national contest, like the Heisman Trophy?

The Fulmer Cup is open to all FBS and FCS programs.

Just because SEC schools tend to dominate doesn't mean it isn't open to everyone. Thing is, it just means more in the SEC...

Man, why don't those standings ever show up when I search ESPN? Thanks for the link.

Proud to see my Dad's old team Nebraska led some standings somewhere in the Big Ten in 2019.
