Dem laws turning California red???
https://www.city-journal.org/california-...law-revolt

"Are California Democrats—responsible for the state’s new anti-gig-worker law, AB5—so out of touch that they’re not aware of the growing anger of their constituents? It appears so.

Since AB5 took effect on January 1, hundreds of thousands of Californians are finding their businesses in tatters. Musicians can’t join bands for a one-night gig, chefs can’t join forces with caterers, nurses can’t work at various hospitals, and writers must cap their submissions per media outlet to 35 per year. Under the law, these freelancers can no longer conduct the same business-to-business transactions they have for years or even decades. Clients with whom they fostered valuable relationships are gone—as are their successful careers and incomes. An overwhelming majority of professionals in fields affected by AB5 identify as liberals and have generally voted along the blue line. Today, however, many are so disillusioned with their representatives that they’re changing political loyalties...."

AB5 is the sort of thing that causes people to re-evaluate their basic political outlook. But I think it’s going to take a lot more than that to have a measurable impact at the state level. We’ll see.

Ultimately as the dems drive left, everyone that is actually trying to improve their own position in life will be negatively impacted by their policies.

Yeah, California is turning red. I'd advise Trump to spend 100 percent of his fundraising money on that state for November.

California's not going red again due to demographics and going after gig companies is popular, it's just the law's very poorly written. If they do go red, expect them to go red for Bloomberg/TPUSA "drag queens and capitalism" types rather than your standard GOP platform.

If turds lying in the street didn’t bother them, I can’t imagine this will. Thus far these morons have outlawed soda pop, outlawed salt—but refuse to do anything about human poop in the street. These are the same people that are currently sponsoring a law that will erase our southern border and allow all illegal aliens who were convicted of a crime in the US (including rape and murder) return to the US and be granted citizenship. Furthermore, the law would require the US taxpayer to pay for their plane ticket back to the US (I’m sure it has to be in first class).

None of that has bothered The Party of Morons, so I doubt a silly little law that makes their little employment apps useless will change their voting habits. This is literally a party full of woke zombie voters who believe whatever CNN and MSNBC tells them. Don’t expect the moron zombie army to abandon AOC and the rest of their idiot leaders just because their crappy gig economy job has been outlawed. They will just demand that they be paid a reasonable wage for doing nothing (well, other than blindly voting for democrats once every two years or so).

RE: Dem laws turning California red???
The funny thing is that this is a direct response to employee law in CA. I've done work for a Cali based company before. The state has passed so many insane employment laws that companies are buried under a mountain of paperwork and regulations that make hiring people difficult.
Not to mention all the extra work that gets dumped on the employee as a result, taking more of their time away from doing their job and making sure compliance is met.
I've been on phone calls where in the middle of a call the person had to hang up because they had hit the limit of time they could work straight without taking a break, and they legally had to hang up... clock out... take their break... then clock back in and resume the phone call.

This insanity led to companies saying F it. We'll just contract and not have to bother with that. So companies started doing that as much as they could because it benefited them... also because then they never had to pay out unemployment. So now the state has realized it... and they're trying to pass more regulation.

None of this is in the worker interest or helps in the real world. It's all about "Passing Laws to make people feel better." It's about looking like you're trying to help people... not actually helping people.
You know... what the Dems excel at these days.

I'm all for the Great California Experiment!

They think they have a better way. I hope they go for it full throttle.

At least we'll have a real example to compare/contrast.

Starbucks jumped all in. Banned plastic straws. Replaced them with a new cool lid. The lid is made of more plastic than the straw was. 01-wingedeagle

lol... very true (that it isn't happening as related to Trump)

but there are a significant number of pro-business/anti-government (just being general) Republicans and even a few non-socialist (again, being general) Democrats, especially in non-coastal CA

I mean, even lots of Republicans don't like Trump... they just don't like Democrat's ideas more. The state could easily not support Trump and yet still 'turn' on Democrats if they keep doing stupid things like this. I doubt it, but it's possible,.

Yeah, but at least the lids don't get thrown in...

never mind.
