RE: Recruits for 2020-2021
Some guy from Chattanooga (played at Northern Kentucky) Silas Adheke
a 6'8 245 Redshirt Junior(might be a grad transfer?) announced on
Twitter he was transferring to ETSU.
he started 28 out of 32 games but only averaged 13.4 minutes and 3.6pts and 4.7 rebounds.

He looks very talented. He played at that uber-high level program Hamilton Heights, where I have a contact, but hadn't heard anything about this - I guess maybe because he's been gone from there a while. Sure has bounced around.

He certainly passes the eye test. Hopefully Forbes and company can bring the best out of him. We’re going to need a lot of help down low.

RE: Recruits for 2020-2021
Looks like he could be a solid role player, and maybe a threat to stretch the defense if that three ball drops a high enough clip. Wonder why he didn’t score/play more at NKU...

He started 28 of 32 games this year at NKU. Looking at the stats, NKU was 9 deep with only 3 players getting above 30 minutes, and only 2 above 20 minutes.

Lead the team in blocks, on the other hand, 2nd on the team in fouls with 67 in his 14 minutes per game. Overly aggressive on defense may be the answer.

Ah. I bet he averages at least 1 offensive foul a game, too. You can see him knocking people down a few times in that footage.

I am interested in people's opinions as to how much he will be able to contribute next year.

Probably will have the same role as Hugley.

That's probably a good guess, altho I'd be surprised (I'm not gonna go check his stats) is he's as much as a threat outside. And maybe even slightly more aggressive inside than Hugley - bringing with that his (apparent) fouling proclivity. Gosh, just WAY too early to tell, as we don't know who all else we'll have on board.
Another comparison possibility would be Tevin Glass, but with range.

Recruits for 2020-2021
I see folks saying Jalen Johnson is a freakish athlete and will dominate at the mid major level… Why did he only average 3.5 points at Tennessee?

Good question, but remember:

- Ge'Lawn Guyn averaged 3.1 points, 1.2 rebounds and 0.7 assists in 3 years at Cincy. It was 18.6 points, 4.0 rebounds and 1.9 assists for the Bucs.
- Deuce Bello averaged less than 3 points and 1.5 rebounds in 3 years at Baylor and Missouri. It was 9.2 points and 3.4 rebounds for ETSU.
- Tevin Glass averaged 2.1 points and 1.1 rebounds at Wichita State. It was 8.9 points and 6.3 rebounds at ETSU.
- Most recently Lucas N'Guessan averaged 1.9 points and 1.8 rebounds in 2 years at Oklahoma State, and 7.8 points and 4.8 rebounds at ETSU, including over 10 points and 7 rebounds in last year's big stretch run.

If Steve Forbes finds a talented guy that he believes in, he usually finds a way to help that guy be successful!

I'm getting excited about the talent that's coming. Forbes sure can find them. And he sure can mold them into a team.

We just lost 5 guys (Jeromy, Tray Boyd, Pun Tisdale, Lucas and Joe Hugley) that would make a conference winning starting 5 in most leagues. And Steve Forbes may be bringing in enough talent (including Damari, and Ledarrius) to be fighting for the top again!

That is also my feeling about some of our new transfers as their numbers do not look that impressive. But as SW has said, we have had many transfers that had similar stats and they blossomed under Forbes and Co.

Interesting. He certainly transferred up, ETSU NET=36, Tennessee NET=63. Wonder where the minutes come from now that he is on a better team?

Guards: Brewer, Williamson, Good?, Monsanto, Hodges, Johnson

Yes he has moved to a better team! I believe now Coach must bring in another point to go with Williamson. One like Isaiah that will compliment Davien. Knowing about how Coach recruits he will bring in a good one, probably a transfer or junior college.

So that leaves 1 scholarship if nobody leaves?
Signed the 6'9 Freshman Paul Smith
and now added 3 transfers.
