RE: UNCW
Brace also had 6 assists, and Walters shot 5-8 and scored 10. You had four contributors. Walker played poorly and scored 4, and your bench scored 7. You shot twos well, but shot threes 2-14, and shot free throws 21-31. Normally you have a elite free throw percent and not many attempts. Today you had a below-average percentage that's way below your average with over twice as many attempts as you average. It was the first time you missed 10 free throws since a 92-83 win hosting Oakland on December 8, 2018. You lost the Division I free throw percentage lead to Pepperdine, who starts soon at 11:00 P.M., so you could lead when you wake up. UNCW had two-thirds of their points from their bench because two usual starters, including Jaylen Sims who leads them in scoring for the season, didn't start. Sims scored 17. Marcus Linssen shot field goals 7-9 and free throws 6-7 to score 20 for the first time in his career.

Nice to see multiple contributors. I don't see us in the play in game. Drexel doesn't win on the road and their remaining games are much tougher. Honestly, I don't see much difference in the top six. .

If point differential were all that mattered, you guys would be in 2nd place.

Definitely see you guys as a top contender regardless of the W-L record.

http://www.barttorvik.com/conf.php?conf=CAA thinks you're the best team in the CAA and the second most likely to win the CAA Tournament. They give you a higher probability than Delaware and W&M combined.

RE: UNCW
Here's what I like about our team.....
1. Our transition offense. In the past we walked the ball up court and passed until we got an open shot.
2. Team defense
3. Roland, Bolden, Tyson, Max and lately Shaq.
What I don't like....
1. Reliance on one player
2. Lack of depth
3. Inability to close

Lucklly, all of the top six have flaws. It's wide open if you're in the top six.

RE: UNCW
You won 65-51. Boursiquot shot 9-11 and led you with 18. He, Roland (17), Brace (13), and Walker (11) scored 59. Your other eight players combined for 6. That includes Murphy, who played 2:24 with all of his statistics 0 except for a +/1 of +6 which didn't require him to do anything. Charleston's only double-digit scorer was Zep Jasper with 10, and he made 2 free throws with 55 seconds left to do that. Riller scored 9 to end his 54 game double-digit streak! You led by 5 early, but from 16:27 left in the first half to 15:23 left in the game, nobody led by more than 4. Boursiquot's dunk with 13:24 left increased your lead to 4 and started a 17-0 run to go 62-43. After another dunk by Boursiquot with 4:42 left made it 62-43, you only scored 3 more, but you didn't need to score.

You're back on track, and Charleston had a horrible trip north.

Woah now, hold up. Murphy played today? I thought rumors of a comeback were myths and he'd be red shirting. That's the best news of the day if you ask me. Sure we wont get him as a 5th year senior without the red shirt, but we can win the CAA again this year and these days 5th year seniors transfer all the time.

Didnt watch. But overall looked pretty great today!

I don't like to make predictions but.......I predict that we will win every game when our opponent goes scoreless for ten straight minutes or more.

Murphy didn't play. The fact that he was listed with 2 minutes was fishy. http://stats.statbroadcast.com/broadcast/?id=277398 mistakenly lists him. https://s3.amazonaws.com/northeastern.in...OC_215.pdf is after the game, and he didn't play. StatBroadcast provides a lot of statistics, but they have too many cases of mistaken identity. The PDF has the same incorrect play-by-play as the statistics during the game. I e-mailed Northeastern hoping they can figure out who played from 17:20 left to 14:56 left. I'm not saying this will happen, but imagine if Murphy doesn't play for the rest of the season, applies for a redshirt, and the NCAA responds that he played yesterday based on incorrect information?

Two of the top CAA players, Riller and Buie are fifth year seniors after injury redshirt seasons, and Joe Chealey did that also. Hofstra's Tareq Coburn will be a fifth year senior next year, but that's because he transferred to Hofstra after one season at St. Bonaventure. Roland, Charleston's Sam Miller, Towson's Nakye Sanders, and Delaware's Collin Goss are fifth year seniors who played two seasons in another conference, a redshirt transfer season, and two seasons in the CAA.

Edit: My post yesterday was in the wrong topic. I should have posted in the Charleston topic. The box score and play-by-play not matching is still a problem.

RE: UNCW
My guess is that it was Strong. At the time of the substitution....very early in the second half.....Brace, Walters, Max, Walker and Roland were on the floor and Brace committed a foul and he was subbed out. Strong is probably the one Coen would have put in for Brace for a quick talk with him about staying out of foul trouble. Still no replay on FLO.[/i]

RE: UNCW
Associate AD Scott MacDonald confirmed that Murphy didn't play yesterday, but he didn't answer my question of who it was. I'm willing to agree with your guess.

https://www.flohoops.com/video/6702525-f...n-caa-mens is a replay.

RE: UNCW
Thanks for the link. Just re watched the beginning of the second half. Here is the answer. The substitution of #33 for #20 took place but it wasn't Murphy for Brace. It was Smart for Miller.

RE: UNCW
We're helping each other. The play-by-play says Smart for Miller happened at 14:56 with Brace for Murphy that we know didn't happen. For Murphy, it's correct that he's not in the box score. For Smart and Miller, if Smart came in with 17:20 left rather than 14:56 left, the minutes in the box score are wrong. I'm going to e-mail Charleston.

RE: UNCW
Watched the start of the second half again. Smart came in at 17:20. Walker stole the ball and on his way to the basket he was fouled and the clock showed 17:18. A timeout was called and you can hear the substitution horn. When the game came back on after the replay Smart was on the court and Miller was gone. There was a timeout at 14:56 but Smart stayed in the game until 12:47 when Miller came in for him. I'm guessing that the scorer noticed the mistake and waited until the next timeout at 14:56 to fix it.
