i am wildly interested in seeing what Mike MacIntyre does with the Memphis defense next season, that guy can flat out coach. going back to a 3-4 may be better suited for our personnel on that side of the ball so thats probably smart.

I agree. I think adding MacIntyre gives great hope that we will finally actually improve significantly on D. We definitely return some talent on that side of the ball.

Assuming we get to play at some point. Figures that Memphis has the potential for its best team in a long time, maybe ever, and now the season is in doubt.

Sorta like what happened to our first #1 recruiting class in basketball, just for totally different reasons.

The problem with these head to head matchups from a ranking prospective is that it gives the voters the excuse they need to low rank our teams - lose and they dropout of the T25. Doesn't happen that way with the P5, especially the SEC & B1G. But we should have a real conference champion & that's the good in this scheduling (along with UConn gone). Hope we get a champ that hasn't been blooded up & can win out - give no excuse to the pollsters.

That's gonna be tough. The league looks deeep next year.

UCF/Memphis/UC top25 caliber

SMU/Navy/Tulane/Temple are all on the door knocking

Houston/ECU/Tulsa are all really tough outs

USF has the talent on the field and headset to surprise.

Smu is doing many things right. I would put them in the top tier. I wouldn't sleep on Houston even though I hate those bastards. Just kidding.
