I got an email... maybe last weekend... Spring Game April 18, along with every other event in Harrisonburg.

Cool, thanks. Must have missed it if it came to me.

It probably was stated on the other thread, Spring Ball has been officially cancelled, right?

I'm seeing some (P5s anyway) haven't cancelled yet..

Great article from Greg. One thing that stood out to me is that John Miller and Everett Withers have the same job title at Texas. I assume he has this job so he can stay fresh on football and still collect from Texas State but funny to think about regardless.

Don't want to clog up other threads or make one dedicated to this so posting here but Tony Grimes, 5* CB out of Princess Anne in the 757 has committed to UNC. I would have to imagine we will be seeing him this upcoming season.

UNC is tearing it up in recruiting. they have the number 3 overall class for 2021. I'm very worried about our game there

UNC isn't always better than Duke or State in football. But I feel they recruit considerably better than those two. UNC gets some incredible athletes. They just historically underachieve.

https://news.sportslogos.net/2014/08/09/...d-spiders/

"I set about trying to find what species of spider Richmond’s is, so I put the question to a group of naturalists and environmental educators. The consensus was that it doesn’t look like any specific species of spider, and in fact it looks more like a tick than a spider. So that answers that."

Not sure what the origin of calling RU the tickets came from but I thought this was a funny piece from an article about the history of the Spider.

Can't say I'm completely optimistic but if it some how worked out that FCS games were going on without most FBS conference (unlikely) it would be pretty big for viewership.

For those games with ESPN distribution, it would be huge. If you are on a nobody remembers your name streaming website with fees, not as much. Yay Joey.

Having said that I agree its pretty unlikely the P5's shut down and FCS holds their games.

I would go further and say it is unlikely the FBS shuts down. So many of those athletic programs need football to keep the lights on, especially after the cancellation of March Madness last year.

RE: 2020 CAA football offseason thread
Not only do the teams need the payments from the networks to keep things funded if football is cancelled or postponed the networks will be in deep doo doo as they will have no content to broadcast on Saturdays and to a lesser extent on other days of the week. Will cause a major monetary hit to the networks as advertisers cancel spots and money dries up hitting the bottom line. So I am of the opinion that a major player in the whole play/not play will be the networks due to the amount of money that is sent college football way, particularly the P5's direction. As is normal for a lot of things in life, it is all about the Benjamin's!!

-1436% chance that the P5 and FBS postpone/cancel their season but FCS does not.
