London hasn't been here long enough for anyone to attach him to W&M. That was my point about (yet?). Were those three with him at Howard? The reality is that Laycock's longevity created a lot of branches. Time will tell on London.

Two of three were with him at Howard. The third played for him.

I tend to think, as others have said, that we promote from within. Perhaps London Jr or Johns. That said, There should be no shortage of solid spread coordinators out there with recruiting chops. Just looking at some of the promising young coaches out there from last year's 30 under 30:
Jeffrey Faris - Duke - TE coach /recruiting coordinator
Collin Klein - Kansas St - QB Coach
Mike Miller - Maryland - TE coach
Kirby Moore - Fresno St - WR coach
Jake Waters - UTEP - WR coach

Our assistant FB coaches make so little money that it is likely wishful thinking that major college coach would see being our OC as a promotion.
I have no way of knowing what our fb assistants make, but I know for a fact it's more than Howard paid them. And, Kevin Rogers found his paycheck acceptable so I don't think poor salary motivated Brennan to search for another job.

Marion thinks a lot of himself and aspires for a lot more than W&M could ever offer him.

Times have changed a little in the past 6 years. We will get an experienced position coach from a G5 program or coordinator from a solid FCS program. Either from a good academic school or someone with a connection to William and Mary. Those are the two things that are most appealing about working at The College.

Well thought out post. Factual with common sense. Look forward to the announcement of our 2020 staff. Appreciate your insight.

Marion is the new WR coach for the Steelers. Good move for him. His W&M connection combined with getting back home makes for a great opportunity in his career advancement.

I get the desire to move up in the world, but at a certain point I think he'd want to spend more than a season or two somewhere. Has to make it hard to recruit when there's a good shot you won't be coaching there next year.

Regardless, I'm more than happy with the Christian Taylor hire for us, and wish Marion the best.

Could be a good opportunity for a different FBS game

Need to worry a little about poaching Mathis if he has a breakout season.

His mentor just reached agreement with UCF. Matter of time.

Breaking: Former Auburn coach Gus Malzahn will be UCF's next head football coach, first reported by Yahoo! Sports and confirmed by ESPN. https://t.co/6rKEejLZPG

Narduzzi is one head coach I would never like to see us schedule a game with. His callous disrespect of William and Mary in past comments will always deem him a certified a-hole to me.

I came across a couple articles mentioning both Narduzzi and W&M. Doesn't look like anything scandalous but along the lines of unnecessary shade:

"Game would be better with more sportsmanship | News, Sports, Jobs - Williamsport Sun-Gazette" https://www.sungazette.com/sports/local-...09/727107/

He had another instance with a slight that was a little more offensive, but I could not find it. Enough so that it burned my opinion of him permanently.

On the one hand I definitely agree with you... on the other hand, if people are willing to hire you into bigger roles and pay you more money, I can't fault someone for saying yes to those opportunities. Gotta strike while your value is high (Joe Brady certainly did so).

Marion never made it a secret about his aspirations to rise in the ranks and ultimately be a head coach. My guess is, unless Malzahn is interested in hiring him as the OC, the Pitt job would be pretty appealing to him. Pittsburgh is his home town and he has many a recruiting connection there.
