MBB Game #26 @ UNC Wilmington
FYI, tomorrow night is UNCW's "homecoming" game. This morning, the only tickets remaining appear to be in the upper reaches of the building. If you're planning on going (I am) you might want to plan ahead.

https://twitter.com/WM_VA_Josh is by one of your fans in Boise who said that it would have been good for you to have the CAA Tournament in mid-January.

MBB Game #26 @ UNC Wilmington
Looking forward to some good Tribe basketball tonight. I hope the energy/effort is high, we don’t miss layups, and a few guys find their shooting touch. Need to build confidence. Let’s get a W, one way or another.

We haven't given bettors a lot of recent confidence.

Maybe this is a good sign. Our last two games, the betting line was moving with us late.

Road wins never easy. If we can get one here, it would be our 9th of the year. That's pretty remarkable.

Need to come out hot from outside tonight. Get the confidence going for our shooters. Nate can score 30, but that is not going to win many games, when the rest of the team shoots 20%.

Luke is still solid, but teams are closing out on him much quicker than in the early season and Miguel is the epitome of "streak shooter", make 'em all or miss 'em all. Andy just needs to get out of his head and just play loose. It's been a while since our Twin Towers have actually been double trouble. We just can't afford too many of those now frequent 4 minute (and 7 minutes last game) scoring droughts.

We need to show that we can still beat the teams we are supposed to beat.

Go Tribe!

Just score. Since JMU game, we haven't eclipsed 60 points in the last four games.

Tribe played against Drexel for their "Homecoming" away and now gets UNCW. We can also look forward to playing at JMU with a pack house as we are the last game for MBB in their old area.

This one will be interesting. If we get Shykeim Phillips back, it could be a very close one or possibly even an upset. It's Homecoming today, after all.

But if he's out due to his concussion from last week, this one will be a Tribe blowout. We don't have any point guards on the team when he's out. And regardless of our team's health, we don't have any answer in the post for you guys, even if we were to put our 2 primary big men (Marten Linssen, Imajae Dodd) on the floor at the same time.

Was planning to go down to this game, but some kind of bug knocked me out for the past two days. Teams have really focused on not letting Loewe be the 2nd scorer, and letting Andy get into one on one matchups. We need to capitalize on that, or run some of the two man game with Nate and Andy instead of sticking with the pass the ball into the corner for the double-team that hasn't seemed to get us any good looks recently.

We had very balanced scoring against them last time out. They are short in the middle compared to our guys. We out rebounded them by 14. On paper this should be easy.........

This game has me a little worried. We're a lot better than this team but our play coupled with homecoming and their interim coach is a dangerous combo.

I watched the tail end of the UNCW/Elon game Thursday night. UNCW had much more energy than when we saw them in Williamsburg; they seem to be responding well to the interim coach. He is lively, animated, and looks as if he’d be right at home getting up in the grill of an offensive lineman as he does his basketball team. The Hawks will be a much different team than we saw at Kaplan.

If we lose to UNCW to put us at 1-4 lately, we will be at risk of falling to the 6th seed for the CAAT. I don't think that will happen. I think we'll go 4-2 to wrap up the season and play UD game one.

Lately, Lukke has been assigned primarily a defensive role, at which he excells. I have to believe that effects his offensive performance ssomewhat. If you watch him during a game when the Tribe is on defense, he is all over the place running around to stay on top of our opponents top scorer. That has to slow him down on the scoring part of the game.

RE: MBB Game #26 @ UNC Wilmington
For those that weren't listening to the UNCW coach's interview, first of all, he looks like a football coach

He says they have concentrated on making sure that Nathan Knight's help doesn't beat them. They figure he will get his 20+. Don't let anyone else get hot.
He also said they will try to get him to shoot the 3. They want him outside, as opposed to letting him work down low, like he did at Charleston.

They got 15 TO's, leading to 22 points against the Tribe in the last meeting.

Great start by Loewe and Andy getting involved early is great!

Barnes is struggling already (he has really fallen off).

Haven’t shot this well in a long time. Let’s keep it going!
