UNCW defense in CAA play
Don't look now but UNCW has risen to 3rd in the conference in defensive fg% at .435.
If you want to see the difference under Burke in CAA play:
McGrath 73.83 ppg /Burke 71.83(70,16 if you take away OT pts. of NU.) CofC leads at 67)
McGrath 46.53% fg, 37.03% from 3/ Burke 42.5% fg, 31.2% from 3.
McGrath would be 9th in the conference at that fg% and 9th in 3pt. defense.
It's tough to struggle with turnovers with Phillips on the bench, but that defensive improvement despite the lack of size in the post is nice to see.

RE: UNCW defense in CAA play
I agree 82 once again and don't judge a coach with wins and losses. The only thing that I can fault Burke on is not preaching to the guys to stay away from getting hurt in practice. Losing Shy cost us the past 2 games. With that written, there is no doubt that the staff has the young men playing good defense regardless of the lack of players.
To me, the future is not written yet for Burke. I really like him and the kids have responded well to him. He and his staff have done a really good job with what they have and their lack of players and upperclassmen.
