RE: Off Season Realignment Scenario
SEC adds Texas, Oklahoma, Florida State, Clemson, Virginia Tech, and North Carolina State. Conf. Semifinals in Atlanta and Arlington. CCG in Sugar Bowl.
B1G adds Notre Dame (with special considerations), Virginia, North Carolina, Georgia Tech, Kansas, USC, UCLA, Cal, Stanford, Oregon, Washington, Arizona and Colorado. Conf. Semifinals in Indianapolis and Las Vegas. CCG in Rose Bowl.
The B12 leftovers add the PAC 12 leftovers plus BYU and San Diego State; lose West Virginia.
The ACC leftovers invite West Virginia, Cincinnati, UCF, USF, and Memphis, UConn or Navy.
ACC CCG played in Charlotte or Florida. Big 12 CCG played in California or Texas.
ACC and Big 12 champs play each other in the Fiesta, Peach or Cotton Bowl.
G5 still gets automatic bid to one of the Fiesta, Peach, or Cotton Bowls.
Orange Bowl = SEC v B1G matchup.
The end result is a P4 with 70 schools. CFP involves 3 automatic berths for:
- SEC champ (Sugar Bowl winner)
- B1G champ (Rose Bowl winner)
- ACC v. Big 12 Bowl winner
