Awesome news. It's a shame that the excitement drowned out the announcement of the last player. I love the timing when trying to attract PWOs to the program. Showing that you put in the work and you will be rewarded.

Sr. Zach Burdick
Jr. Trey Watkins
Sr. Ryan Ripley
Sr. Ted Hefter
Soph. Sam Katz
Jr. Zyquan "Termite" Bessant

What's better than earning a scholarship? Having Mike Tomlin and Sean McDermott break the news.

Busy time right now for Coach London. He needs to keep these commits happy so that they aren't poached by tomorrow. We are moving into transfer season where he will need to try and finish out the roster with transfer talent. There is a lot of competition for the best FBS guys. Spring practices are going to start getting under way this next week. And, he needs to find time to interview and hire guys to fill coach Barthel and coach Z's spots on the staff.

RE: 2020 Tribe Football
Termite Bessant certainly joins some of the more memorable W&M football nicknames that come to mind, all from the 20s to the 60s...can we get help with some later great nicknames other than Yagielllo and Michael Clemons?

Carlton "Five Yard" Macon (1926-27), coach "Honest" John Kellison (1931-34), Otis "The Reedville Strong Boy" Douglas (1930-32), Thomas "Happy" Halligan (1930-32), Gerrard "Buster" Ramsey (1939-42), Harvey "Stud" Johnson (1939-42), Tommy "The Kid" Korczowski (1946-48), "Flyin" Jack Cloud (1946-49), Lenny "Boom-Boom" Rubal (1956-58), Dave "Splinter" Edmonds (1956-58), "Bullet" Bill Bowman (1951-53), Stan "Yag" Yagiello (1981-84) and Michael "Pinball" Clemons (1984-86).

No idea how the staff has been reorganized but Blackstock has moved into a full assistant role as evidenced by him being listed by some recruits in their tweets. Possible we are only hiring one outside assistant.

I think Blackstock has slid into the recruiting coordinator title held by Barthel. He is a career defensive guy though. Special teams coach, maybe. Not sure he is qualified as the running backs coach.

Off topic: UR's defensive coordinator, Adam Braithwaite, is on his way to Charlotte. I hope the spider's defense sucks for a long time.

Adam, as you know was a Tribe DB about 20 years ago and returned to W&M as an assistant a few years later.

Matt Johns’ twitter bio states that he is the QB coach. Marion still the OC.

Wow. I hope there is an explanation for this that makes it not as bad as it seems on the surface.

Will Michael and Ethan Chang will need to be ready. Michael, a rising senior, pays his own way. I know he has struggled, but I hope he takes advantage of this opportunity...I've only heard great things about him.

George is partial scholarship.

I recently read "all publicity is good publicity." A ridiculous cliche that surely doesn't apply here. Aside from my snide comment, I hope everyone waits on something more than a media snippet before we determine George's fate. Not good all the way around.

Extremely blessed and excited to have the opportunity to stay involved with football at The College of William and Mary as a student assistant primarily focusing on special teams. Looking forward to this spring! #TribeFootball #OurStateOurTribe @WMTribeFootball

He'll graduate early and enroll in W&M Law. I wonder if he'll continue to play.
