I think that the easy OOC was a reason that we had hope. Seems like that was a tease. We have one great player, a couple of try hard players, and well.......

MBB Game # 25 - Charleston
Embarrassing effort tonight by everyone not named Nathan Knight. Our wonderful defense that everyone loved is awful and our shooting is pathetic.

Dane...Dane...Dane...Dane...Dane. Samantha isn't happy.

I hope Dane can recruit, because the players he brought in this year aren't very good. Knight, VV, and Loewe have been our 3 best with Scott being 4th.

Still think we messed up big time not letting Shaver at least have this year with all of his players - We can very easily be a 5 win team the next couple years

3 double digit losses and a gift win in the past four games.
The bad 3 point shooting continues, 4 for 23.
Again, below 35% from the floor overall.
18 offensive rebounds couldn't overcome that kind of poor shooting from everyone not named Nate.

Knight didn't reach 30 like I said he could, but he had 28 points, 18 rebounds, and 10 offensive rebounds. He became the ninth player (eighth vs. Division I) from 2010-2011 to the present to have at least 28 points, at least 18 rebounds, and at least 10 offensive rebounds. He's the first player from 2010-2011 to the present to do that for or against a CAA team. Teams are now 6-3 (5-3 vs. Division I) when a player does that. All nine players to do that had 3 or fewer assists.

Well at least we are sticking to our core values. What a bunch of BS.

On a positive note. Harvey is now found and doesn't need to be on a milk carton.

We don't have any swing men on the team and he is the closest thing to one we have. We can't have Barnes and Scott out there at the same time because both of them are very bad on defense.

Hamilton is solid on defense, but he doesn't have the speed to defend someone with Galloway's speed, which isn't fair to him. We are putting him on an island asking him to guard him 1-1, which is just stupid IMO. Run help D when he has it and live with one of the other players hitting shots on Charleston.

On offense, Hamilton is a black hole and teams pretty much don't defend him because they know he is.

I see you point but I’d still rather have Ayesa out there since he’s at least a threat offensively. This team is just missing that one wing scorer.

Today just makes me miss Pierce or Audige. Someone who can score and get to the basket and take pressure off of Nate.

Can’t blame any of this on Dane, he did a remarkable job assembling this team last minute and no matter what the rest of the season brings, they have exceeded many of our expectations.

Next year has the potential to be rough..

Later than that we had pulled within 4 and had the ball. Nathan drove and was clearly fouled by Smart -- but no call !! Those two free throws (not unreasonable to think that) would have put us within 2. Instead, it stayed 4, they hit a trey and then another trey and suddenly it was 10.

I don't think Charleston is way better than us.

Hofstra is a terrible matchup for us and will beat us most times we play

I don't think either CofC or Hofstra is way better than us. We played terribly today and it was still close until things kind of got out of hand at the end. We beat them earlier. We crushed Hofstra earlier and they beat us handily later. But the latter game was terrible officiating and I think that game could have gone either way if things had been level.

Hopefully those of us who said that this was the hardest game remaining will be proved right. We should win every game the rest of the way, with the possible exception of Towson. That will get confidence back up. Plus, none of the Hofstra/Charleston/Northeastern trio can just assume that they will beat us -- we have already beaten each of them and can do it again.

Just need to run the table to hit that 6-2. Please.

Dane should have Nate stand in the midcourt circle with a whistle and yell at his teammates as they run suicides all practice.

Dane brought in what he could and I'm glad those players are here. I'm most disappointed with Andy but whatever. I'm sure he's disappointed, too.

Our 2020 class needs some work. I suspect Dane will scramble to find a few transfers.

One of Pierce or Audige on the wing, or Milon filling it up from 3 would go a long way.

No knock on Dane as a recruiter, he was put in an incredibly difficult position and responded about as well as anyone could have done.

He extended his double-digit streak to 52 games. This season he scored 10 in each game against you, 11 in a loss to Wake Forest in Anaheim, and at least 16 in every other game. He scored 20 against you in 2 games combined and at least 20 in 16 of his other 22 games.

Luke Loewe is a lock down defender.

Incredible. So Knight puts up a historic performance on offense, Loewe holds Riller to a season low, and we still lose by 18.

When Nate outscores the rest of our team and we had a ghost defending Galloway, that tends to happen...

We still need a point guard - for every great assist Scott gets, he has 2 really stupid turnovers. Luke is a solid PG, but I think he has looked much better playing off ball this year and letting him shoot/drive off passes. Barnes is unfortunately just too small - he drives the ball pretty well, but gets blocked a ton because he is 4 foot nothing and tosses up bricks on open jumpers.
