The season is in a free-fall. I think the kids may have had their confidence permanently damaged with all the close losses. There wasn't a semblance of defensive effort/intensity today. Too bad. Maybe the week off will help although at Hofstra is not exactly a soft landing spot

RE: Elon
You had five players score in double-digits and another score 7, and that normally means a win in the NCAA, which has much fewer points per game than the NBA. However, Roland was you only player to score more than 11, and he scored 19 but shot 4-16. He made all 9 free throws, and you made all 19, but this week was bad for you whether shot free throws poorly or perfect. Marcus Sheffield II scored 28 and shot 10-15. Hunter McIntosh scored 24 and shot better, as he missed 1 field goal and 1 free throw. You had the same amount of rebounds and 8 fewer turnovers, which led to 13 more field goal attempts and 6 more free throw attempts, but you shot much worse. Elon shot threes 10-19 (.523). Boursiquot shot field goals 4-8 and free throws 2-2 to have 10 points and 8 rebounds. Walker shot 3-10 with no free throw attempts and had only 7 points and 2 assists. You used the bench for only 33 minutes.

RE: Elon
I really don't know what to say, other than this team has developed the bad habit this year of losing leads and games down the stretch.

I don't see it turning around this season.

RE: Elon
Making 19 free throws without a miss may sound like you should win, bu from February 3, 2019 through February 1, 2020, there were as many losses by CAA teams when making at least 19 free throws without a miss as wins by teams in any conference when making at least 19 free throws without a miss. On February 9, 2019, Drexel shot 19-19 in an 86-84 loss hosting Charleston. I used a period of one day less than one year because California-Davis made 23 without a miss and won on February 2, 2019. Teams are 3-7 the last time they made at least 19 free throws without a miss, and that includes Morgan State losing to Division II Lincoln (PA).

If it's any consolation, you took the Division I lead in free throw percentage. You're up to .802, which is higher than Hofstra's .802 last season and would be second in CAA history behind W&M's .810 two seasons ago. The CAA team season record was .761 by Hofstra in 2010-2011 until it got broken by a lot by W&M, and Hofstra last season and you now are way above .761.
