Providence
#13 NU hosted #9 Providence in a key Hockey East match-up before NU plays in the Beanpot Monday.
NU came away with the 4-3 win when Zach Solow scored the game-winner to break a 3-3 tie late in the 3rd period.
The win puts NU 3 pts behind BC and UMass. But they still have an uphill fight for home ice in HE.
NU takes on Harvard Monday night at 5pm at TD Garden in the Beanpot semifinals.

RE: Providence
Standings are tight. Hockey East had better out of conference play than in the recent past so it looks like we could potentially get 5 teams to the tournament. Amazing that the top 9 are all pretty good. Reminds me of 2010 I think when we finished 9th and missed the Hockey East tournament even though we were trying to get into the top 4 as late as the final weekend.
