UT needs a TV show, "Desperately Seeking O Linemen," as they have offered another Grad Transfer, 6'4 280 OT Christopher Fourier from Lehigh. So far, I see lots of offers from lower level schools, but no FBS offers.

RE: 2021 Football Recruiting Thread
Obviously JC and Hallet also (finally) recognize the issue with the OL, by offering anyone who is available. My question is with the 20 or so that we have currently on scholarship what are they demanding from them? Commitment, dedication, hard work, lifting, running, play execution, etc... By the same token, what is JC demanding out of Hallet and Bichey?

With the MBB team, TK has a way of getting sub standard players to transfer out thus freeing up a scholarship or two. Perhaps JC needs to set an example! We have been patient enough, next year bears a great opportunity!

Yeah... MAC recruiting is a total crap shoot.. let’s all face it.

Yes -I noticed the rating % too among UB, BG, and UT. We have more dudes. 247 grades these kids on tenths and hundredths!! Almost ridiculous. 247’s system is too fine a difference to be understandable and noticeable. It’s sort of mystifying why the system is what it is and how it evolved. Both Rivals and 247 use a 100 max scale (no 100’s). But Rivals uses less decimal points. Crazy confusing.

Mac Jones was a 3* and Jaylen Waddle a 4*. Best players IMHO this year. Coaching????? Nick sure find them Waddle was lights out in his HS films. Don’t understand how he was not #1 WR coming out of HS. I digress! Do stars really matter?

Coaching kids up is so meaningful. Many others have hit on this in other threads.

I love our recruits. Our O line is a huge issue this year. Losing Dumont and Ateman really hurt a lot. This should be mentioned more. I think the current O line recruits are better this year than past even though lower rated. See my previous comments.

Go Rockets!!

RE: 2021 Football Recruiting Thread
New transfer announced today:

Ronald Delancy III, FR Safety from Nebraska. HS @ Miami Northwestern. High 3star out of HS

https://hailvarsity.com/uncategorized/ne...er-portal/
https://247sports.com/player/ronald-dela...-46079963/
https://www.hudl.com/profile/10225686/Ro...elancy-lll

Anyone know how many scholarship players UT has now? Seems like they are signing a lot of players, and already had a pretty full roster, but I don't know the numbers.

Also, saw on twitter that AJ Harrison plans to come back in 2021. He was a walk-on, and indicated Candle has given him a scholarship - does that still not count against limits, if he didn't have one before?

There will likely be at least 6 transfers into portal and that frees up more space

If you’re going to blame the o-line for everything that was wrong with this season then at least know what you’re talking about......we didn’t lose Ateman, he was on the sidelines all season long, he just didn’t play and Dumont was only starting because Mitch Berg had surgery.

Ok LovemyRockets.... lolol

A bit harsh in your observation/correction but Ateman was listed as injured at one point. Dumont was a starter as he started in place of Berg. Any corrections are appreciated. The offensive line did struggle. We all know they’re just young men doing their best but the coaches are extremely well paid so results are expected.

Nice to meet you. I love the input. I’m hoping 2021 is the start of Toledo football championships. The talent is there

Go Rockets!

The latest transfer, DB Ronald Delancy from Nebraska sure is interesting. In his recruiting process in high school, he committed and then decommitted to Louisville. Then he only stays at Nebraska for a year even though he received playing time as a true frosh. Once he entered the portal, it was rumored he was headed back home to Miami The U...now he’s a Rocket. Hope he pans out!

I thought Berg played LT and Dumont was playing RT?

I think you are right. I think you are right. Does that mean Dumont was a starter from game 1? That makes his injury even bigger. Who were our projected OL starters before injuries including Berg???

Would it be? ....

Berg LT
Doerger LG
Harris C
Rosi RG
Dumont RT

This would be good to know to compare to last depth chart that is still posted

Go Rockets!

RE: 2021 Football Recruiting Thread
The preseason depth chart had Berg #1 at LT and Dumont #1 at RT. Gurman replaced Berg at LT on the list, after Berg's surgery was announced. You can still see that first Depth chart here:
https://utrockets.com/documents/2020/10/...s_BGSU.pdf

or in the Game Notes for the BG game here:
https://utrockets.com/documents/2020/11/...U_game.pdf

I also remember Candle talking in one of the pressers about how Dumont had earned the starting job in the off-season.

Listed as a Safety in HS, but played CB at Nebraska. Same HS as Jacquez Stuart.

I wonder if Gurman is going to return? He was a grad transfer from DII Edinboro. I’m sure he will be encouraged. He is needed for depth. He got to play a lot of football. Possibly more than he expected despite a shortened season.

Go Rockets!

Next up in the OL grad transfer offers, is 6'3 285 OG PJ Barr from Bucknell. Just see lower level offers, other than UT.

RE: 2021 Football Recruiting Thread
After seeing all the posts on what we are going after on the OL, my only comment is WTF are we doing? Does anyone else have confidence these guys are now ready to move up to DI (aka FBS) when apparently no other teams in DI see that - and are not offering? We used to get guys from Florida State and other big programs as grad transfers, now it is Lehigh and Bucknell?? They may be good - I have no idea, but I am certain I have no confidence right now in the OL Coach. Would like to see Kuligowski get involved for some input. He played DI and coached at some pretty big programs. I have a feeling he can see what it takes to play at that level and if these guys have what it takes. Maybe he already did.
