Exclamation Post-Bowls Power Ratings
This hasn’t been done already, has it?

I meant to do it after the Southern Miss game but had some nasty flu. I don’t recommend it. And now I’m just getting back to normal. So, I’m sorry to dredge up football now but I’ve been wanting to read a year-in-review thread and I haven’t seen it yet.

Let’s start with the final Massey Ratings:

1. Florida Atlantic
2. Western Kentucky
3. Louisiana Tech
4. Marshall
5. Southern Miss
6. UAB
7. Charlotte
8. FIU
9. Middle Tennessee
10. North Texas
11. Rice
12. UTSA
13. Old Dominion
14. UTEP

I’m ready for southern miss fans to disrespect us early and often. New season, same old arguments.

I feel like this is spot on. Bowl season LaTech might be slightly ahead of bowl season WKU.

RE: Post-Bowls Power Ratings
The preseason polls had Charlotte last in the East, which was probably code for almost last in the conference. I will take 5th-7th in the conference postseason and run with it. I can't wait to see what Healy can do with a couple of recruiting classes in place.

RE: Post-Bowls Power Ratings
One of the worst seasons in cusa history in terms of overall strength. I was hoping it would be enough to get Doc fired not to win it last season, but it appears at least this will be the last season for Doc to hold us back, thankfully. I have never seen our stadium as empty as it was last year and they are still playing good ole boy politics and let him keep his job. Unreal.

I feel like you guys are finally over the "Judy" hump and your athletic programs have bright days ahead.

RE: Post-Bowls Power Ratings
Post Bowl season, below is how I would rank CUSA. I moved UAB up a couple of notches, because at least they were in the game against Appy, until late in the 2nd half.

1. Florida Atlantic (abused SMU, 52-28)
2. Louisiana Tech (shutout Univ. of Miami, 14-0)
3. Western Kentucky (edged Western Michigan, 23-20)
4. UAB (lost to Appy St, 31-17)
5. Marshall (lost 48-25 to UCF)
6. Southern Miss (lost to Tulane 30-13)
7. FIU (lost to Ark St, 34-26)
8. Charlotte (lost to Buffalo, 31-9)
9. Middle Tennessee
10. North Texas
11. Rice
12. UTSA
13. Old Dominion
14. UTEP

Link?

The preseason polls I remember were almost unanimous with Rice/UTSA/UTEP at the very bottom of CUSA, close to the very bottom for all of FBS. Eastern Division was a little more up in the air but ODU the consensus last place and Charlotte 6th. Though I’m sure some people did have Charlotte in last.

RE: Post-Bowls Power Ratings
Looking over the current Massey Ratings, here is an unofficial “G5 Top Twenty”. Note: median ranking in parenthesis. I used the mean/average to break ties. 98 different rankings used to reach the consensus.

1. Memphis (16.0)
2. Navy (19.0)
3. Appalachian State (19.5)
4. Cincinnati (21.5)
5. Boise State (23.0)
6. Air Force (23.0)
7. UCF (25.0)
8. Florida Atlantic (28.0)
9. SMU (30.0)
10. UL-Lafayette (32.0)
11. San Diego State (41.0)
12. Hawaii (47.5)
13. Tulane (53.0)
14. Western Kentucky (53.0)
15. Wyoming (55.0)
16. Louisiana Tech (56.0)
17. Temple (57.0)
18. BYU (58.0)
19. Buffalo (62.0)
20. Marshall (64.0)

Everybody says when their athletic programs suck they they aren't trying, don't have resources whatever. We honestly weren't trying. And we absolutely have the resources. And you can laugh at that or call it BS all you want, it's true. We are all totally blown away after the first year and a half of this administration. the times are a changin'
