MBB Game #22 - Towson (Coaches vs Cancer)
Boy that one really stings. I want to see how we look against them the next time out up in Maryland.

MBB Game #22 - Towson (Coaches vs Cancer)
Towson was very good today. We were okay. Good energy and hustle but fairly poor execution. Not enough inside looks for Nate and Andy. Terrible 3-point shooting.

Just need to stick together as a team. Win majority of the 2nd half of conference play, and go into the tournament with momentum. Those (hopefully only 3) days in DC will be a dogfight.

We made a run to close the gap while he was on the bench. We missed shots that were good looks. That was ultimately the difference.

IMO, we looked out of rhythm on offense tonight, whether that was us being off or Towson playing good defense. We were also the victim of lopsided officiating. When we were aggressive defensively, we got called for fouls. When they were aggressive, they were not called for fouls. Still, all that and we could have won had we made shots that were good looks. Most of those misses looked like guys were just a little off, whether in their footing or rhythm; we didn't have good flow most of the night.

RE: MBB Game #22 - Towson (Coaches vs Cancer)
This was a tough, gritty game. Towson played very good defense, as did we, but their shots were falling and ours were not and they deserved to win. Agree with others that refs made several truly bad calls in the second half against us...I rarely complain about refs since bad calls usually even out in a game, but there were a couple there yesterday afternoon that were
really bad and hurt us when the game got to two or three points.

This team will snap back and not go into a swoon...our tough defense will not go away and, like yesterday, keep us in games when our shooting is off and/or Knight misses big pieces of time due to foul trouble (it was one of those key poor ref calls last night that was very bad and caused him to miss time).

Perhaps an equally big story yesterday afternoon was the continuing surge in attendance!
I cannot remember any time in the past twenty years where we've had three consecutive games where the attendance has gone well over 4000. Yesterday we were a hundred or so short of 5000! And the swelling of student attendance and support has been eye opening...more than 1100 yesterday. Plus the crowd support and the crowd being into the game is at a new level. This all belies the pre-season thoughts that attendance and interest would sag...W&M basketball appears to have really caught on and their is a crowd buzz
that wasn't apparent before.

Better watch it or all these complaints about officiating will wake up Rocco (or does he only activate himself when I complain about officiating?).

Remember, YOU wanted us in the PL. Talk about a program killer. "Remarkable."

RE: MBB Game #22 - Towson (Coaches vs Cancer)
Yesterday was another example of why the plan for the "redone" Kaplan should NEVER be below 7000 seats. All you do is limit the amount of growth you can have. We are knocking on the door of 5000 now, with just this little success. If Dane can find some players and continue to get the excitement growing, 5000 will be easily surpassed. 6500-7000 size arenas still offer a nice combo of size and atmosphere.

Billymac is right. That same reason is why I think the CAA should not limit itself to a 4200 seat arena for the CAAT. Discounting all other sources of interest, W&M fans themselves can sell out the DC arena.

Sorry, I was traveling yesterday and missed the game. I don't see any of those posts claiming some sort of vast officiating conspiracy. CAA refs are crap. They make crap calls. That's not quite the same as discounting every loss because of a tinfoil-hat conspiracy theory but I've already spent more time on this reply than I should. Keep trolling.

I guess it does take longer when you have to find and attach gifs. Trolling? "Vast"? I certainly never used that word (after all, nobody would ever say the CAA is important enough to be considered part of a "vast" conspiracy theory). Tinfoil? That's all you. I had never even heard of the phrase until you continuously brought it up. But I get it now -- I can complain about officiating all I want -- as long as I don't say that the officials are doing it on purpose (which sometimes they do, of course .....).

RE: MBB Game #22 - Towson (Coaches vs Cancer)
The ref did hurt us yesterday and Dane complained several times about the one ref to the other two during the game plus had a 1-1 talk with him. The reality is Saturday games will almost always have one junior ref that we normally do not see and this Saturday he stunk. He did cost us momentum but not the game. We need to value the ball better and get our TO down as 5 TO in the final 5 minutes will never win a close game especially the lazy passing we did several times.

You brought my name into this. I could dig up all the various conspiracy theory posts you've made but it's not worth the effort. Post whatever you want. I don't care. I don't moderate a thing around here. You clearly care way more about what I think than I care about what you think.

And if Dane shows anything but even keel, that's basically a chair throw. :)
