Porter's luck
Porter Moser is a very good coach, no doubt about it. But he was also a very lucky coach in his first year on the job. He just happened to have Alan Barksdale shooting 44.9% from the arc and Nick Zachery at 46.6%. And for good measure Laverne Smith at 35.2%. But they couldn't forget inside because Stan The Man Blackmon was putting them in at 18.4 points per game.

But the proof that Porter was a good coach was the Sidney had three of those four and won 4 games with them.

You know, it is interesting. Sidney had a slow start and lost 5 of his first 6. But then he won two in a row and lost by 2 points at Georgia. He may have thought things were beginning to turn around. Of course, they never did.
