At this point I think you are correct but I still think UNT has the best talented team (1-6). I think we have moved past, being lucky, for Western. Up till tonight that's what I would have said. Good when they want to play but it took huge luck to be 6-1.

While it did take that luck I also think it took the experience, something UNT and most of CUSA is lacking...to pull it off. But what worries me about this Western team getting into the huge holes...

come tourney time some of the inexperience teams are going to figure it out on how to close out games.

That's the difference in coming back against UNT, UNCC, ODU and Marshall. Across the board Western has older players that now know they can do it. While those other teams question their self in games they lose the lead

Can’t believe I nobody has complained about the refs! To be honest I thought they called a decent game. A few missed calls here and there but it was on both sides

The FIU team has impressed me the couple times I've seen them play and it would not surprise me to see Western go 0-2 on the road next week. Which makes winning again vs Marshall a must win.

I wonder what the announced attendance is going to be for this home ODU game? I never seen a game played at ODU with so few fans. Place looks empty

My first really good look at FIU and I am pretty impressed by what I am seeing as well. Judging by this first half, I view them and North Texas as my top teams. They did however have their top scorer go out with a leg injury in the first half, so depending on how long he is out could change my thoughts on the matter. ODU also had perhaps their best player get Carr off with what looked to be a severe injury that his right knee. Jason Wade is our injured player.

North Texas' turn to try and weather the Fightin Jacksons.

Mean Green all over UTSA early. 23-10. 14:00 to go in 1st half. Apparently we are gonna play at UTSA's pace. We'll see how that goes.

Now I 100% know why ODU felt like they got the short end of the stick on calls at Western. Poor FIU is getting beat to death by reach in push offs and arms coming across their bodies...

Breath on ODU and they get the call....Green uses his left arm pushing off on 90% of his drives to the basket. Now I get it why some ODU fans felt like the refs were against them. They get to mug the crap out of the other team at home.

FIU is a very good CUSA team this year. They look like a Pod 1 team to me.

I'm not deflecting, FIU got the crap beat out of them. Got calls for pushing off and ODU did the same 10 times with out a call. Hell with about 38 seconds left the ODU PG pushes off on the drive, walks (slides 3 feet) and still was allowed to pass the ball.

I dont know what the FT count in this game was. I just know FIU should have shot more. The way ODU plays and only 5 fouls for the second half before you had to foul with 30 seconds left in the game. That is incredible for ODU to only have 5 fouls called against them.

After home cooking like that I now know why some ODU fans feel cheated on the road.

Good game ODU, good to get that first win, and you guys made us work hard for it.
