You went up 16 with 9:58 left, blew it, and lost 76-74 in overtime. Roland scored a Trask Coliseum record 38, but missed shots to end regulation and overtime. He scored a majority of your points. He had his third game with at least 38 this season, which is the second most behind Marquette's Markus Howard, who scored 42 today for his fifth game with at least 38, and he has 2,434 points and more threes made than UNCW's Brett Blizzard, who has the CAA record. From 2007-2008 through 2016-2017, the CAA went ten consecutive seasons without anybody averaging 23 points. Then Justin Wright-Foreman did it in consecutive seasons, and Roland raised his average to 23.1. He passed three player to move up to fifth in Division I. You allowed a triple-double and won, and then broke a venue scoring record and lost. Walker was your other double-digit scorer with 17, but he had only 3 assists, and you had only 6 assists on 26 field goals. You entered third in Division I in free throw percentage, but shot 14/22 = .636, which was costly. It was your most misses since you missed 8 hosting Delaware on December 30, 2018. UNCW didn't have any big scorers as Brian Tolefree led them with 17.

RE: UNCW
I haven't seen the game yet, but I can't fathom how Brace had one point against UNCW in a game that went to OT.
I saw too many clips on Twitter of UNCW players getting layups at our expense.
Let's just hope they finish in the top 4 at this point.
Bad loss any way you slice it.

This is where the unexpected loss of Occeus and Gresham is hurting us...not to mention Murphy. We got used to having a pretty solid starting fine and dependable guys coming off the bench.

I agree. I even think we would be so much better with Murphy based on his inside presence and the fact others wouldn't have to play so many minutes. Greg has done great but he logs too many minutes for us compared to where he is at. Has anyone heard anything about Murphy? We are on injury day 64. It feels like he is in witness protection

I don't know if anyone knows when he will be back. Even if he was cleared to practice the coaches might not say so.
Orangeville prep (Stucke) is on ESPN3 today. The schedule says 12:30 but Orangeville tweeted that the game was moved back to 3:00 because of weather.

RE: UNCW
I think we need to stop worrying about when Murphy is coming back.
IMO I think he’s going to be redshirted. Everything is aligning in that direction.
Even if were to comeback, he wouldn’t start and the way the offense moves the ball, it doesn’t call for a player to clog the middle who’s not a good rebounder.
Let him sit out and see how we look next year.
I think it’s more about Brace’s inability to want to do more to score. How do you take one shot the entire game against UNCW?
And let’s not forget one of the reasons Occeus and Red were good defenders was because you had Green in the middle. Helps to have a potential shot blocking presence inside too.

With every game Murphy misses...redshirting becomes more and more likely.
I don't miss Greshem's and Occeus' defense as much as I miss their experience and their offense. I would rather have them taking the shots that their replacements are taking.
