Yeah that is a pipe dream. If that happens and The American has a team go undefeated they would be in the Playoffs no doubt.

We really need an emoji that sadly shakes its head... A SMDH emoji.

One small correction: Tulsa is playing FCS Northwestern State out of Louisiana, not Northwestern of the Big 10.

Yes, football is the only sport that matters
I only watch March Madness. Otherwise, I don't keep up with basketball at all.

RE: Way to soon OOC projections
I'd put UCF vs UNC as a toss up. Kinda worried about this one given how UNC smashed Temple. Also would put USF vs FAU as a toss up. If they'd played this year, I think FAU would have won handily. We'll have to see how the two new coaching staffs affect each team.

First thoughts are that the UCF vs UNC, Houston vs WSU, Tulane vs MSU, Cinci vs Nebraska and ECU vs Marshall/SC games are ones that we can win but not necessarily should win.
UNC will prove to be a tough out for UCF, as will Marshall for ECU.
The most impactful win would be Tulane beating MSU. The folks in Starksville will lose their minds if that happens.

Unfortunately, I fear that UNC will be pretty good until they're hit with another scandal or Mack leaves.

Tulane beating an SEC west + Big10 would be huge for the perception of the league. When people **** talk AAC its always well UCF/Houston have it so easy they only have to play "Tulane and Tulsa"....

I think Tulane will come away with 1 of those wins.

This conference matches up VERY WELL against it's non-con schedule this year. Would do a lot to for the conference to pull a 41-7 W-L record this year, but
the only two projections I'm going to go ahead and disagree with are UCF-UNC and Tulane-MSU. I could be wrong but Mack Brown's UNC team is going to be pretty damned good this year and may be able to challenge Clemson for the AAC title - not kidding. That, and Leach is going to give people fits even in his first year But I would LOVE to see both of those games go to the AAC.
God I hope we beat TCU. Would actually solidify the series as a rivalry.

FAU will be ridiculously difficult given Taggart and Leavitt will be out for revenge because USF re-hired neither, and it's at their house. Unfortunately, we need to win that game because otherwise what's left of the fan base will revolt.

Last year's OOC schedule as a whole looks a lot more impressive than what I'm seeing this year. There were so many marquee matchups against P5 teams compared to this year coming.

Both of your programs will have 1st year head coaches in Florida, should be interesting. But I don't think Taggart is a good coach so idk what he'll be able to muster up for his revenge. He coasted a few years on wins from Flowers and didn't have much of anything to offer beyond that.

Obviously super early in the off season but I don't see anything that would make me think SMU is going to be slowing down. I'm not worried about UCF - UNC, the game that has me most concerned is @Memphis. Cincinnati less so because it's a home game this year, not worried about our OOC matchups this year.
Tulane I'm 50/50 on, I think they can pull 1 of their P5 OOC games out. Not sure what exactly their turnover this year looks like but Northwesterns not all that good and for Miss St it all depends on how Leach does year 1. Some coaches need a year or 2 to get settled and bring in recruits others come out swinging.

UNC is a good team, they have a superstar freshman all American QB, and completely demolished Temple in the bowl game. Should be a good game and not a given at all.

RE: Way to soon OOC projections
Our talent level got a BIG boost this year from recruiting and grad transfers. One of the best years recruiting ever. We have a solid QB (Howard) but are waiting to bring in a Transfer after spring practice to either take the reigns are provide quality depth.
With that being said we get MSU early, hoping leach he can’t turn them around early. 50/50. Starkville would infact implode if they lost to us.
