Highlighting this aspect was the last two seconds of the game. Jihar Williams on a fast break which should be an easy meaningless dunk or layup. However, inexplicably, the Drexel player fouls him. Even more inexplicably, the ref actually calls the foul. Then Jihar wastes his opportunity to get on the points board by missing both foul shots (and thereby messing with our overall free throw percentage, too).

A game like that, all you can do is turn the page and wait for the next one.

Coincidentally that ended up being a huge play in the game for the fans. I am actually glad we didnt just give it up. I like a team playing to the last second. Was also unnecessary from both sides. However missing the FT's actually earned the fans free wings, so it all worked out

I'm gonna pretend Jihar knew that and missed them on purpose.

Big thing right now is for the team to forget about this rare clunker and come back strong with four consecutive home
games coming up And get Barnes back healthy.

As Coach said in post game, it was a "bad day at the office". Got the bad game out of our system so time to take care of business and circle 2/13 as payback time.

I did get a chuckle out of us proving the "there's an exception to every rule" therom. After a 1st Half like yesterday's, someone (surprised, actually, it wasn't me...) will always say "Well, the law of averages should even things out. They can't keep shooting that well, and we can't keep shooting that poorly."

Well, they actually shot better in the second half and we got even worse. Ouch.

Oh, well. Chuckle, grimace and move on...

Interesting observation; ALL Tribe points scored by former Shaver recruits/players; ZERO points scored by Fisher recruits.

86 minutes: Van Vliet, Ayesa, Hamilton, and Hermanovskis shot 2 of 15. That's like 13% from the field. And don't tell me they were in for their defense.

Just a bad game and the second game this season where we made no or poor halftime adjustments.

You know it's a bad game when Huge disappears from the MBB Twitter feed. I'm so used to her praising NK for having faith in her decisions, praising Dane, etc. ...when it's cold outside, who are ya holdin'?

6-1 with 3 of our 4 toughest (maybe 4 of 5 toughest) games out of the way already. And 7 of the remaining 11 at home where we have yet to lose. Not bad at all.

His dad was a monster in college who played with another big center/forward with a left handed shot around the basket who reminds me a lot of Nate Knight. David Robinson was pretty amazing in college too.

The CAA site has an "in focus" segment on James Butler. His father Vernon gets interviewed, too. Apparently James has a sister who played for George Mason who was pretty good, too.
