Extremely early thoughts on ACC football 2020
I expect Clemson to start out preseason #1

I think Louisville and North Carolina could make some progress and turn into top 25 programs

Hopefully Norvell can turn things around at FSU

No idea about Miami, VT, UVA, or Pitt

I think Louisville will do fairly well next year, but the Cards are another year away from helping carry the ACC banner with any real meaning. The Cards could flirt with fringe top 25 status, depending on how the schedule breaks.

Florida State and Miami need to step their game up. They have the tradition, and fertile recruiting grounds to quickly re-establish their place in the college football hierarchy.

Everyone else needs to win their out-of-conference slate consistently And NOONE can slip up against FCS level schools.

I realize the Hokies will be a big underdog to the Nittany Lions, but Fuente needs to find a way to win that game so he can put this whole Baylor thing behind him.

Cuse with a new DC and OC. The OC over his career, his QBs have averaged 3500 passing yards. DeVito has the arm talent to get there. Can they develop a run game? The OL is expected to be much better.

I think 7-8 wins is the benchmark...hopefully more

Notre Dame has an interesting schedule next year, especially opening with Navy in Dublin. Not many real road games either....

Arkansas should be a sure win
Wisconsin will be tough, might be a loss
Pitt will be tricky
Clemson is going to be a HUGE game, especially if the Tigers are undefeated. If ND can get past Wisconsin and Pitt, could be a Game of the Century!
Louisville will also be tricky, kind of trap-gamish
USC will be harder this year IMO

North Carolina could make a big statement with a win over Auburn

I think VT has a good chance of beating Penn St

Bad news for y'all

https://www.cbssports.com/college-footba...nior-year/

Quote:Clemson's 2020 football roster got a big boost Friday when running back Travis Etienne announced he will return for his senior season. Etienne ran for 1,614 yards and 19 touchdowns this season en route to winning his second consecutive ACC Player of the Year award.

He was also the team's third-leading receiver with 37 receptions for 432 yards and four touchdowns.

Etienne is 45th on CBS Sports' 2020 NFL Draft Prospect Ranking and third among running backs.

Quote:"When I arrived at Clemson in 2017, I was just a kid from Jennings, Louisiana, with a dream of becoming the best football player and best man I could be" Eitenee wrote. "Coach Swinney, Coach Elliott, my family, my teammates and so many others have helped me reach for that dream every single day, and I will always be thankful for their belief in me as a player and as a person.

"Speaking of dreams, I have long dreamed of competing at the highest level and getting the chance to compete in the NFL. But I'm not done dreaming here at Clemson either, which is why I'm announcing that I'll be returning for my senior season. I look forward to earning my degree from this great university and continuing to fight with my brothers on the team to make you proud during the 2020 season."

Quote:His return positions the Tigers to have their top three rushers and three of their top four receivers back for quarterback Trevor Lawrence's junior season.
