If dana didn’t know
That king was going to transfer from the start, then that means UH just paid for him to get a degree and sit out his senior year, the whole time he was just playing the school, convinced his coach to let him sit out, caused us to miss a bowl game and have a 3 win season all for his own benefit

Dana is an idiot and king is a douche bag.

yea, but the idiot is getting $20 million guaranteed to mail it in instead of being fired (probably after this year) at WVU 03-lmfao all while coaching 03-drunk

I mean, there’s no doubt King played Dana and the team and school. Whatever his reason and intent was, it’s a pretty crappy thing to do to a team. Hope his dumb*** chooses Arkansas, who will not be a good football team next year.

Major Applewhite would not have put up with that crap. Dana probably even let King wear “the jacket” on the sideline.

Dana is an idiot and king is a douche bag.

Dana is what caused your team to go 4-8.

You could have made a bowl if Dana didn't quit on the season.

Dana is just as much a quitter as King.

Secondly, what were you going to do kick the kid out mid semester? He was already guaranteed his scholarship.

Isnt giving him a redshirt up to the coach?

RE: If dana didn’t know
Looks like I was right.

I stated from the get go that King was a quitter. That anyone worth anything would not quit on their team mid season if healthy.

Certain Houston posters roundly criticized me for saying so. I turned out to be correct. King was a quitter.

Dana is either really dumb and honestly thought King quit to return next year, and covered for him, or he knew that King was gone and covered for him anyways just to not make it seem like his QB just quit on him 4 games into the season.

Either way, horrible look for both of them.

RE: If dana didn’t know
I guess the question I would ask is if your player comes to you after 4 games and says he wants to transfer....what is the coach really supposed to do?

Sure you could pull the schollie and kick him off the team which might make the fans happy...but how will upcoming recruits see that?

If you did that, then wouldn't other players just fake an injury in the future?

You really aren't going to get any value from that scholarship that semester. I suppose you could give it to a non-scholarship player but then you lose that scholarship for the upcoming year.

I don't really think there is anything the coaches can do in that situation that will have a positive outcome for the team.

RE: If dana didn’t know
Dana doesn't know that King and Briles
Talk on the phone every Sunday
He tells Dana he's in church but
He doesn't go
Still he's on his knees and
Dana doesn't know
Oh Dana doesn't know oh
So don't tell Dana
Dana doesn't know
Dana doesn't know
(So don't tell Dana!)
King says he's out shoppin'
But he's visiting Arkansas
And Briles not stoppin' 'cause
Dana doesn't know
Dana doesn't know
Dana doesn't know
Dana doesn't know
So don't tell Dana
Dana doesn't know ph
(Don't tell Dana!)
I can't believe Dana’s so trustin'
While Briles right behind you fist pumping
King’s got Dana on the phone
And King’s tryin' not to tweet
It's a double cross
And he knows nothin', nothin'
Dana doesn't know
Dana doesn't know
Dana doesn't know
Don't tell Dana 'cause
Dana doesn't…

Wait...Dana is an idiot because King spent 3 months lying to the coaches as well as his teammates?

Yeah, that makes sense.

Guys, scholarships are one year contracts, not semester to semester.
