Montrezzl Harrell?

That's a really weak list of centers, IMO.

Yeah, I don’t disagree. But which centers would you consider? Was Harrell involved in the one year of Louisville being in the AAC? I know Russ was.

Harrell was.

I don't have a good answer for center. I might take Achiuwa or Echinique over any of those guys. I wouldn't put Shaq Morris on a list, but he'd be ahead of Shaq Goodwin for me.

Shake Milton would be a pretty good 2/3.

I like both Napier and Moore, but wouldn't want both on the same 5. Shamet as a 2 with either of those PGs is deadly.

Shamet was certainly a very good player but Kilpatrick was a 1st team AA that carried UC to a league championship when Louisville was still around and UConn was actually good.

I'd put Shamet over Moore. Shamet only had 1 year in the AAC but was the better overall player IMO. Just depends if we are deciding on overall accomplishments or best players

RE: All-time AAC basketball?
Interesting thread. Napier, Russ Smith and Kilpatrick were only in the league one season. That has to be a factor. I'm still going to put Napier there because that UConn team had the incredible run to the National Championship.

G Shabazz Napier
G Nic Moore
G Rob Gray
F Gary Clark
C Taco Fall

Toughest Omission: Jermiah Martin

Honorable Mention: Jarron Cumberland, Sean Kilpatrick, Russ Smith, Marcus McDuffie, Landry Shamet, Semi Ojeleye, Marcus Kennedy, Ryan Boatright, Chrstian Vital, Jacob Evans, Shaq Goodwin, Cameron Reynolds, Corey Davis, Junior Etou

People really not valuing the way Taco Fall effected the game defensively for UCF. He became a nice offensive player too, but there was nothing like him around the rim. This league hasn't had a great, dominant center who did it for multiple years. I think Fall has to be the center by the totality of his career and how much he affected the game.

Fall is an interesting one. There's no doubt he's a game-changer. IMO, either he was seriously under-utilized on offense while at UCF, or I don't think I'd put him in my 5. Squad of 10 and I definitely want him for rotations and situations. As much as he is unique and has some unmatched abilities, UCF was good-not-great while he was there and I like guys where their impact is shown in the W column.

Two different things to me. I think he had the best career of any center in the aac. I think ucf improved a ton from when he got there. Go look at their plus minus with him on the floor against Duke last year. He mattered.

If you're asking me to make the best 5 person lineup I'm going.

G Napier
G Russ Smith
G Kilpatrick
F Gary Clark
F Semi Ojeleye

But 4 of those guys only played 1 season in the AAC. three played the same one season.

I'd throw out Shaq Morris as another candidate at center. 1st team All AAC that was pretty dominate as a senior.

RE: All-time AAC basketball?
Might as well make it a 10 man roster 1st team/ 2nd team sort of thing. Tacko should definitely be on the roster.

The real question is what are we defining as eligibility for the team. I don't have a problem with guys that only played one year in the conference since for the most part that wasn't something they were in control of.

Might be a stretch, but can we include Wiseman? Even though he never played a conference game he was technically an AAC player. If you are building the best team to win a game I think you give him a hard look.

This. He had some of the highest defensive ratings in the Nation and led essentially a top 25 team his senior year. That was mostly him and his defense driving that. He also was a highly underatted offensive players too. He shot like 70% from the floor as well and had a 25 PER.The guy was legit and he's in the NBA as others have now come around to that fact.

I agree with this list. Yes, it was only 1 year for the 3 guards, but it was also the best year in AAC history (with the most teams ranked during the regular season and Natty to top it off).
