Drexel played 4 guards, many of them short, and Robert Battle. He was a best, the Davonte Cacock of his era. Really admired how well he did in the paint with zero help from teammates.

Battle was not on that team, he was on the '07 snub team that beat Syracuse and Villanova on the road. This was the team that lost early to Norfolk State in the preseason tournament and started out 2-4 including the early season conference game (when the CAA had 1 december game) to Delaware. That loss to NSU cost this team, despite that NSU team having a soon to be NBA player who helped them upset #2 ranked Missouri that year in the NCAA.

Then opened up the new year losing to Georgia State then ran the table to the CAAT Finals where they lost to VCU. They then went onto the NIT quarterfinals where they blew a 17 point lead at home with 16 to go. UMass actually went on a 26-7 run over a 9 minute stretch to take the lead after being down that big. That team had Frantz Massenat, Samme Givens, Chris Fouch and Damion Lee. By far the best Drexel team ever.

How about the 1995/1996 Drexel team with Malik Rose? They were dominant!

I was not around then to really give a good opinion, however the AE was not nearly as strong as the CAA was for 1, and secondly, his support cast was not nearly as strong either. Malik himself absolutely beasted, but the team did not have nearly the quality that '11-'12 team had. With that said Malik is in the rafters, nobody from '11-'12 will be and that mostly has to do with the recent team never dancing. The '95-'96 team beat Memphis. Most thought '11-'12 team would have won at least a game had they been invited. When looking at the '11-'12 team it is amazing that so many litter the Drexel all time lists despite all playing together. So while that Drexel team has its own place on a pedestal and rightfully so, I think most would argue the more recent team was the best Drexel team. There is definitely no other team in consideration other than the '95-'96 team.

Scoring:
Malik- #3 all time scoring for Drexel
Mike DeRocckis- #7 (freshman in that year)
Jeff Myers- #15

Fouch- #5
Frantz- #6
Lee- #10 (in only 3 years, likely to have passed Malik had he stayed) (freshman that year)
Givens- #22

Rebounding:
Malik- #1

Samme- #3
McCoy- #5
Ruffin- #7

Assists:
DeRocckis- #13
Overby- #14

Frantz- #3

Starts:
Malik- 119 (#4)
DeRocckis- 119 (#4)

Frantz- 128 (#1)
Thomas- 121 (#2)
McCoy- 120 (#3)

Games played:
Malik- 120 (#8)

Frantz- 128 (#1)
McCoy- 128 (#1)
Samme- 128 (#1)
Fouch- 126 (#4)
Ruffin- 125 (#5)
Thomas- 124 (#6)

Gut feel that a win in this game will validate what the team has done to date. While we need to play them one at a time and are capable of losing to any team in the league, fans have the luxury of looking ahead. @Delaware, @Charleston and @Towson seem to be he biggest obstacles left in the regular season, imho. A win @Delaware is a boost. You've got this team.

Any inkling why on ESPN website only CAA game without a line tomorrow is W&M v. Delaware?

CBS has Delaware -1.5 this morning. One more chance to (kinda) shock the world (a little)!

MBB Game 19 - @ Delaware
I'm sold that we're a good team. Not great, but good. I think we're well-coached and I've seen good effort most games.

Tonight's game is a major milestone as far as I'm concerned. Yet another away game against a team that plays physical ball. One of four conference teams we have yet to play. UD is coming off a humiliating loss to Towson and will be out for blood. Big guys who will challenge Nate and Andy.

I don't like the matchup and I think Nate will get in foul trouble. If we somehow win tonight, we'll separate ourselves from the pack and, I believe, will vastly increase our chance at winning the regular season crown.

No Bryce Barnes tonight. Thornton Scott back into the starting lineup.

Reportedly, not a serious injury, but something they are playing it safe with tonight.

That one hurts... He was the only guard willing to drive to the hoop against Charleston

Curious with how we are going to rotate our guards tonight. Can't afford to have Loewe and Scott on the bench at the same time without Barnes.

Might be seeing Loewe and Scott playing 32-34 minutes tonight

Next man up. Gotta have a good game from Ayesa and Hermanovskis. Maybe Jihar gets a few minutes?

They have really only used him as a sub for Hamilton and appears like they do not trust him handling the ball. His defense is also not very good so I don't see us subbing him in at guard to defend a likely quicker player.

I do see Ayesa getting 12-15 minutes

“ Several @nba scouts here to size up @WMTribeMBB twin towers -- 6-10 Nathan Knight (20.0 ppg/10.4 rpg/56.4 FG%) and Belgian Wisconsin transfer Andy Van Vliet, a 7-footer averaging 14.8 ppg/9.0 rpg and shooting 50.9%. #BlueHens also have to contend with 6-4 G Luke Loewe (46% on 3s)”

We are going to need to have a good shooting night. They have a LOT of people who can score.

2 for 8 early on.

Why does it seem like Hamilton's only contribution on the court is fouling...
