Brought back to reality quickly
I already had us being 7-0. Then Nowell goes down and we lose 2 in a row. Can't see us winning at CC or AppSt without him. Those games will be very tough to win even if he comes back.

The one positive was Marko. I think he is the pure shooter we have been missing. No way teams can play a tight zone, like USA did last night, with both him and Markquis on the court. It should really open things up for Ruot, Kamani, and Nikola. I still think we have a chance to be really good, but every Sun Belt game will be a battle.

It is a long way from over and there will be lots of blood on the court (figuratively) before we are through. We just need to concentrate on playing good basketball. We have enough talent to get it done if we do that.

When I found out Nikola and marko were ineligible for half the season I was ok with it because i knew all that mattered was winning the tournament. All healthy, i believe we will be in the mix in the tournament.

Absolutely. We had 8 turnovers more than our average this game. That won't happen every time. Our rebounding is outstanding. Defense is acceptable. We have plenty of scorers.

RE: Brought back to reality quickly
The league is obviously wide open. There is certainly no dominant team. If we ever get healthy- actually I am just talking about Markquis back since I am becoming doubtful that we will see either Kris or Evans back on the court this season, we can obviously beat anyone in the league. We have gotten some close wins and the ball will have to bounce right for us several more times. But, if it does I think we will be in New Orleans. At that point anything can happen.

With regard to Kris and Evans, if they are not back soon, I'm not sure a medical redshirt wouldn't be the best option for everyone. Can you imagine having a team made up of Markquis, Nikola, Kamani as seniors, Kris and Evans as redshirt seniors, and Marko as a junior. With our luck, that won't happen, but it would give us a line-up that could really make an NCAA tournament run. Actually, with everyone healthy, it could happen next season.

That would be the best roster we have had since the 30-win season.
