This ought to be fun. UL on a 2 game losing streak needs to snap out of it soon to keep pace with Duke if they are to stand a chance to over take them. Meanwhile this would be a major scalp for ND to be able to present to the NCAA selection committee as ND tries to stay on the bubble.

NCSU 11-4 @ VT 11-4
It has been said that the ACC is only a 5 bid conference this year and if that is so then this game seems crucial as these teams have identical records and the winner gets a leg up on the other. My heart wants VT to win, my head thinks NCSU wins. Regardless I think it will be a good game.

Clemson 7-7 @ UNC 8-7
I will be paying more than the usual amount of attention to this one. Carolina has a couple of streaks invested in this game; 1) Continuing Clemson’s futility streak, 2) UNCs own post season streak. They are now just hoping for NIT Stan to extend an invite.

Cards get the win @ ND 67-64. These games tend to go to OT so I’m not surprised that it was close. Cards now on a 2 game win streak.

I guess everyone's watching the NFL playoffs. I thought there would be more discussion about today's games.

Cuse beats UVA 63-55 @UVA
Clemson beats UNC 79-76 @UNC

Clemson 7-7 @ UNC 8-7

The Cards beat Miami mid-week so the losing streak was already over before the W today.

I haven’t even seen highlights but it’s crazy that the Tigers finally snapped the streak with their worst team in quite a while... not even an NIT level team. It’s tied greatly to injuries but I don’t think anyone thought UNC would be this bad, even right after Anthony went down. Prevailing wisdom I saw was they could tread water against their “easy” January ACC slate and then Cole would return for a tougher Feb. schedule.

In the worst ACC in a decade plus, UNC is tied for last at 1-4. They haven’t played murderers row either, their five opponents are only 7-13 in league play (excluding games vs UNC). Anyone heading any rumblings about Anothony’s return? Any chance he says no thanks and decides to do NBA prep rather than try to right a lost season with little help?

Congratulations Clemson. It was looking bad with 5:00 left. The curse is broken.

Cuse with a nice win at UVA. The problem is will this be considered a Quad 1 road win in March?

LOL who am I kidding, Cuse's main goal is to finish above .500% after the season. Sad how we have fallen to this.

FSU plays UVA Wednesday, thinking about going.

Yeah, it does seem the worst in a decade plus. And it couldn't have happened at a worse time. Football was the worst it's been for sometime. ACC is Down.

These things are cyclical to a degree, but to be down this badly in both major revenue sports at the same time is not good for the conference at all.

It is cyclical. Jordan Nwora and John Mooney are the only guys who returned to the league from among the 15 guys on the ACC all-conference 1st/2nd/3rd teams last season. It’s been even worse than largely expected though.

I am so impressed with the job Leonard Hamilton has done the last few years and especially this year. It almost feels like now all he does now is reload. He has found, perhaps by circumstances rather than choice, a good chemistry between blue chip players and hard working raw talent that fits LH’s mold. Not to mention his players go to class and stay out of trouble.
