It's tough when you're worst position groups are QB, OL, and WR for a TE to find any room to operate. Given the limitations of our passing offense I think 39 catches for 500 yards was pretty strong.

Career, 92 receptions, 1117 yards and 13 TDs. Very active for a TE.

With the way Juszczyk was used this year by the 49ers, you best believe there will be people trying to find the next one, it's clear that's what people are seeing in JD.

Yep, and that's with having multiple te's playing during that period as well.

I don't know how many bites they get at the apple, but:

I remember when there was a Deguara NFL thread on here that I wasn't sure he had the size/athleticism to cut it. That's why they have the combine. I was wrong his size is adequate and the athleticism is there. He will certainly be a guy who can play special teams and probably will be able to help out in the passing game as well. He's nowhere near a Kelce level talent but as a prospect he probably compares favorably to Celek as a prospect coming out.

Looks like the athleticism is definitely there:

Yeah, I don't see an NFL player but his limitations are going be the same next year as this year. Better to go now a year younger with more tread on the tires.

I was hoping he could stick on a Practice Squad for a year or two.

Perhaps another year would have got him a degree that would allow him to get a real job.

Without preseason games it's hard to really judge a player's talent and how ot fits with your team.

College isn't for everyone, and there are a lot of jobs out there that don't require a college degree. Frankly I tried talking my oldest out of going to college and encouraged him to learn a trade. The return on investment is just not there for many anymore unless you are in specific programs. Not sure what Mike's dream job is outside of football but hopefully it all works out for the best. If he has to come back and finish up his degree then it is not that hard for him to do so.
