TicketSmarter Named Presenting Sponsor of WAC Basketball Tournament
Quote:DENVER – The Western Athletic Conference is proud to announce TicketSmarter as the presenting sponsor of WAC Basketball Tournament. The multiyear partnership begins for the 2020 event held March 11-14 at Orleans Arena in Las Vegas.

"We are thrilled to be the Official Ticket Resale Partner of the Western Athletic Conference, as well as the title sponsor of their conference basketball tournament," said Jeff Goodman, TicketSmarter CEO. "The high-level programs that make up this conference are truly exciting, and we look forward to this partnership for many years to come. As a part of our collegiate strategy, we remain committed to developing meaningful relationships with conferences and teams across the nation."

The 2020 WAC Basketball Tournament presented by TicketSmarter marks the 10th anniversary of the tournament being held at Orleans Arena. The Overland, Kan.-based resale ticket marketplace will also sponsor the WAC Athletes of the Week and receive additional marketing assets on WAC platforms.

"The WAC is thrilled with the opportunity and is very proud to align its premier athletics event with TicketSmarter," said WAC Commissioner Jeff Hurd. "It is a win-win partnership in every aspect and will certainly benefit the conference's broad fan base in a wide variety of aspects."

The 2020 WAC Basketball Tournament presented by TicketsSmarter will consist of 14 games. Tickets for the tournament can be purchased as either an all-session ticket or as a single-session ticket. All-session tickets are on sale now through WAC institutions and will go on sale Monday, February 3 through Orleans Arena.

Van Wagner Sports, the multi-media rights and sponsorship partner of the WAC facilitated the development and execution of this partnership.

From their website:

Quote:About TicketSmarter.com

TicketSmarter is a ticket resale marketplace and is not affiliated with Ticketmaster or Live Nation. TicketSmarter is not the ticket seller. Prices are set by third-party sellers and may be above or below face value. And, with seats for over 125,000 live events and 48 million tickets for sale, TicketSmarter helps customers from all walks of life experience the power and excitement of live events by creating helpful partnerships and giving back.

Giving Back and Creating Partnerships

TicketSmarter is committed to partnering with St. Jude Children's Research Hospital through 2020 by contributing $1 from every transaction to helping treat and eliminate childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases, with a minimum total contribution of $250,000.

St. Jude is a children's cancer research hospital that has spent more than half a century finding cures and saving children from cancer. They were founded in 1962 by Danny Thomas in Memphis, TN. Three years later developed the first immunologic method to diagnose solid tumors in children. Since then, St. Jude has become a trusted source for childhood cancer treatment.

In addition to partnering with St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, TicketSmarter is proud to be the Official ticket resale partner of Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena, California.

Rose Bowl Stadium is home to the UCLA Bruins as well as hosts the famous Rose Bowl championship NCAA football game between the champions of the Big 10 Conference and the Pac-12 Conference.

In a milestone partnership, ESPN Events names TicketSmarter as the title sponsor of the Birmingham Bowl and the official secondary ticket resale parnter of ESPN Events.

Because of the partnership formed between TicketSmarter and ESPN Events, the bowl will now be officially known as the TicketSmarter Birmingham Bowl.

ESPN Events' roster includes 14 college bowl games, 10 college basketball events, and a number of additional sports and award shows attracting over 800,000 people every year.

TicketSmarter's latest impressive partnership comes with becoming the exclusive official ticket resale partner of Boise State Broncos Athletics.

As the journey continues, TicketSmarter is proud of the partnerships built with ESPN Events, Entercom Broadcasting, Royal Farms Arena in Baltimore, IMG, Crown Marketing, Rocklahoma Festival, and Boise State Broncos Athletics, and looks forward to engaging with the smartest organizations to help everyone experience the power and excitement of live events.

Venue and event marketing teams can explore smart creative partnerships with TicketSmarter and contact info@TicketSmarter.com today.

All purchases are backed with a TicketSmarter ticket guarantee. You can have peace of mind knowing when you make your purchase for any sporting event, concert or theatre show that your tickets will be valid. You will receive a 100% refund if the event is cancelled and not rescheduled. You will also receive a 100% refund if your order was accepted but the tickets were not delivered by the seller or shipped in time for the event. In a Google search, the first page has a link to people who have had issues with getting refunds. Some have bought tickets thinking its TicketMaster only to find out it is TicketSmarter.

This is a response they gave to someone who was extremely unsatisfied with their services:

Quote:We explicitly state on our website that TicketSmarter is a ticket resale marketplace that is not affiliated with any other ticket selling services. We also state that the prices for all of our events are set by third-party sellers and may be above or below face value.

Looks like they came into existence last March.

I didn't use TickPick when the WAC was associated with them, I have no plans to utilize TicketSmarter. Buy through your university's ticket offices or TicketMaster.

It's good that the WAC has a sponsor for the basketball tournament. They are not Verizon level in name brand recognition, but as long as the WAC gets some money out of it.

My issue is that this seems pretty sketchy. Aggie fans should remember this bit for the fake sponsor for UNM but for others here is the reference: https://www.si.com/college/2019/10/25/es...wl-sponsor

They may be a legitimate company but I am a bit wary.
