Watching Minnesota at Michigan State
Dan Dakich is the best color commentator around. He spent years as an assistant to Bob Knight at Indiana, so he has Knight's insights into the game, but he is not a jerk like Knight.

Dakich did tell a story about Knight that illustrated his mastery of the whole game. One time he turned to Dakich after a basket and asked, "Who made that?" He had been watching the other things on the court that most of us lose sight of.

In the Big Ten, big men do matter. You actually will see the ball delivered to them in the post occasionally. Opponents had better be prepared for war in the block when they play MSU. And MSU's Xavier Tillman is a Man in the block (6-8, 245#, with massive shoulders). Michigan State is relentless on the boards.

Francis Oturu, the father of Minnesota's Daniel Oturu, was a championship table tennis player in Nigeria.

MSU's Cassius Winston was the consensus pre-season choice as Player of the Year. He had a bad stretch earlier this season because of the death of this brother, but he is back, in spades. He is among the best I have ever seen at being able to dribble into the trees without getting into trouble, because he knows exactly where everyone is every second. He goes just far enough, but not too far. And he is probably one of the few players who could get away with arguing with Tom Izzo about whether or not it was a bad pass.
