MBB vs. FAU
Bold strategy to have Peterson play 1v5. We'll see if it pays off.

Beat me to it. Not working though as FAU jumps out to a 22-13 lead.

Typical Rice athletics. Keep Pera around and run the program into the ground.

RE: MBB vs. FAU
51-33 FAU after an 11-2 run to start the second half. They've buried three 3s in our face so it's not even really been bad defense. But offense is bad to watch, especially without Rob.

Little life from the good Owls. 10-0 run makes it 57-47 bad Owls.

Tremendous fight tonight. I would've folded the tent when we went down 20.

RE: MBB vs. FAU
Ken Pom has a “luck” component to his rating system. No idea how it’s calculated. That said, after we had our nice start, we were #1 in that ranking.

He wasn’t wrong.

Beaten by a DII grad transfer...though from a really good DII program. Like it seems every quick guard he carved us up driving the ball but also hit big 3’s. 34 pts in 34 minutes.

Now 207th in Pomeroy, and ahead of only 2 C-USA teams (dreadful Southern Miss and Middle Tennessee).

Yep. UTSA was #219 to our #202 going into tonight's games ... but the Roadrunners beat visiting LaTech (was #59, now #69) by 16 and vaulted over us to #196, as we fell. Sigh.

RE: MBB vs. FAU
To expand on Rob Martin's absence - he was knicked up against WKU and didn't dress last night. He may play Saturday. FAU was good. Their bigs destroyed our bigs (our comeback only happened when we went with a smaller lineup). That was probably Parrish’s best game as an Owl. We need a similar effort for the whole game Saturday that we showed in the final 12 minutes.

I'm not going to blame Peterson for the turnovers - he played his heart out for 39-plus minutes. We really need a win to get off the conference schneid. I still think we're going to get some wins other people may not expect. The talent is better. I think we lead the country in number of home games we play when the students aren't in school.
