RE: Hofstra
Hofstra leads 40-24. In the last minute, you got unfair treatment by the shot clock after Jalen Ray missed the first of a 1-and-1. Watching live, I guessed that the shot clock wasn't reset after you rebounded his miss. Looking at the play-by-play, the shot clock was reset to 20, which happens after an offensive rebound, kicked ball, or defensive non-shooting foul, but this was a change of possession and you should have been given a 30 second shot clock. Hofstra called timeout, they reviewed something, nothing changed, and the announcers didn't notice that the shot clock wasn't reset to 30. I wonder what Coach Coen noticed. Neither team scored after that, and there's no guarantee you would have scored with a 30 second shot clock, but I still think the referees and announcers should be embarrassed. My Mom said that not reseting the shot clock to 30 and not noticing it is inexcusable because it's easy to know what the difference between the game clock and shot clock should be in the last minute.
Eli Pemberton scored 12. Isaac Kante scored 11 without a miss including the only three-point play. Desure Buie had a slow start but scored 5 in the last 4:22 to reach 9. Jalen Ray scored 8. Tareq Coburn, who averages 10.9, attempted 1 shot and did not score. Hofstra's three bench players didn't score either. Kante led all players with 6 rebounds, and Buie and Walters were tied for the most assists with 3. Brace led you in points with 7 and rebounds with 5, so he's on pace for a double-double. He didn't miss. Walker, Boursiquot, and Strong scored 4 each. The last two shot 2-3, but Walker shot 2-8. Roland shot 1-5 and had 3 points, 1 rebound, and no assists. You had more than double in the mistakes categories as fouls were 9 to 4 and turnovers were 11 to 5. In addition to his poor shooting, Walker had no assists and 3 turnovers. If you knew how poorly your top two scorers were going to play, you would have expected to trail at halftime.
