We had a different announcer the past two games. The previous announcer had the perfect voice for our sound system. Hope he's doing well and will be back soon.

Chuck, a JMU grad, has been in Frisco, TX this week. While probably a bit frostbitten and a bit discouraged by the outcome, he should be back in his chair for the next home game.

Nate's defense and engagement to protect the rim was outstanding on Saturday.

RE: CAA Game 5 - Charleston 2pm Saturday Start at Home
A very nice touch by the team yesterday after the game ended. After shaking hands with the Charleston players they gathered on the court and acknowledged the crowd on my side of the court where the teams sit. Normally they just head off to the student section side and high five fans on that side.

I will tell you that I saw something from the crowd yesterday in the first half that I do not ever remember seeing. As I recall, after trailing by one at about the 3 minute mark we scored 7 straight points to go ahead by 6 with about 2 minutes left in the half. After the bucket that put us up by 6 the crowd rose in unison and the roar of the crowd was fantastic. It pretty much stayed the way for the last 2 minutes of the half. What I found so great about this was not that Tribe fans were on their feet for a Tribe basketball team but that it was occurring as a result of a sequence of events that were occurring during the first half. This team never takes a day off on defense and our fans love the effort.

I think it's the biggest for a conference game, but UNCW did have a sell out crowd (5,100) for their game against UNC.

Technically, but we all know that the majority weren’t UNCW fans.

Actually I was surprised at how little blue I saw at that game. Far from a majority of Heels fans. Probably more like 15 %.

Was this pinned to important threads by accident? Maybe meant to just put up the MBB season thread here?

No. I started stickying [sic] current MBB games...just hadn't swapped them yet.

Tar Heel fans are by and large front runners. Less than half are true blue dyed in the wool fans when the chips are down. So far this year the chips are down.

If this is true then there is no excuse! What are we, a rinky-dink Div-III or NAIA school? That problem is strictly maintenance. Heck, even one of JMU's scoreboards (the one on the wall at the end of the court, not the one hanging over the court) shows player stats for everyone on the floor. Maybe when they move to the new Convo we can pick this one up at their yard sale this spring.

The heck with the stats. I would just like to understand one word that comes out of the PA system. it is embarrassing. I feel like we need Garrett Morris from the old SNL on the floor to translate.

Yep. And that was early enough in the season where UNCW fans were excited about the season. Plus the UNC home game was of course hyped up in the community.

The season ticket holders did a good job not selling off those tickets, even if they'd have made a substantial profit.
