RE: Should the FCS Location be switced more often?
In fairness, we've just run into some bad luck with temperatures in Frisco. It's in the mid-upper 60s in the week surrounding game day which I think anyone would take. We just keep getting the snake eyes on game days there. 2017 actually wasn't that bad. The Youngstown game was butt cold especially tailgating that morning.

besides that, even if it were 10 straight JMU/NDSU finals, i still don't understand getting bored with that. it's a national championship game. if you're not 100% completely jacked up for it, then you're also probably one of those fans that "likes that we win, but wish our offense/defense would do more _______". no. just win. period. i have no idea how someone could see JMU in a national title game and come even CLOSE to feeling bored.

My fatigue is not due to the opponent. That is actually a plus for me versus YSU. My fatigue is due to the same small limited town. It was great for a year or two, but this year I'm simply flying in for the game. Not excited to again have it there. I'd be more excited it was at one of the many places listed by many on here. As far as a location like Orlando - there are tons of complimentary things to do. Frisco has gone stale to me.

Frisco isn’t a small town. It is a city of close to 200k, in a metro area of about 7.5 million people, the 4th largest in the US. There’s lots to do in the DFW Metroplex. But Jan its not warm weather, a beach location, or a gambling/entertainment mecca.

The bottom line is in Jan if its not:
-warm weather/beach (basically South FL)
-or Vegas
-or Disneyland
People are are going to have issue ls with the location.

Funny enough, the world’s largest casino is just an hour north of Frisco, but point taken.

Hell yes! I live here (DFW) and I have an issue with the location.

Don't get me wrong, I love Texas, but, dang, we can do better than Frisco. Let's try anywhere in Florida.

If you're bored with "Frisco" (Dallas region) that's on you. There is plenty to do. It's like saying there's nothing to do in Harrisonburg; there is plenty to do in Harrisonburg.

Was thinking this morning about how many people out there must be JMU/NDSU fatigued. Probably every other fan base wishes they could be in Frisco and spite these two teams for "always" being there.

Lots of good options that can be rotated through: Orlando, Miami, Atlanta, New Orleans, Las Vegas, San Diego, L.A., Phoenix/Glendale.

There's plenty to do in Washington DC (50 times more than Frisco)- it does not mean I want to spend a weekend or a vacation there (25 miles away) there every year.

While I'm sure there are some fans on both sides that might like to see different teams, I've not seen or heard much fatigue over the teams. Mine and I think others is if you are going to spend thousands of dollars on a day or two trip it would be nice to have it at a place that has complimentary weather and things to do not only us, but more so the rest of our family.

Deez, I don't think you are quite to the point in your life where you have to consider the family, and do we do this mini-vac in frisco again, or watch on TV and do the a mini vaca somewhere else?

Most or at least a significant amount of us on here are fathers. You kind of question yourself on if it is fair to spend this kinda $ on something that is not as fun for the rest of the family. Don't get me wrong my wife, DJ, and DJ2 all love the games & are JMU fans, but I know if I asked them would they rather spend $2,000 to go to Frisco for 24 hours, or watch the game on TV, and another weekend spend that $2,000 to head to Orlando, San Antonio, or New Orleans, etc. - there is no doubt in my mind what they would choose.

That's why I said this is the first year I considered not going, and watching on TV. It's options in life, and you have to consider the whole picture not only for yourself, but your family, or spouse.

If it was different teams reaching the NC each year there would not be the location fatigue. I was excited about Frisco the first time. I was ok with it last time. While I excited about the game, I'm dreading Frisco this time. Other than the NC - why am I paying this kinda money to go to Frisco? If different teams went on an annual basis as in the past, keeping it in the same place so long would not be an issue since you may only go once every 5-10 years. Same place 3 times in the last three years for JMU, and for NDSU 8th time in 8 years - that's not that exciting.

Like the NC in spite of Frisco for me "this" year.

Dallas is the 4th largest metro area in the country. Sure it'd be cool if the game went different places, but if you can't find things to do in Dallas that's on you.

I guess most people's idea of "plenty to do" varies.

Yes there are a lot of things in Frisco and places to eat, but it is no different than going to Ashburn or Short Pump. Miles and miles of the same old crap just in a different strip mall or town center set up. While you can certainly find enough stuff to do for a few days while waiting for the game it isn't something you'd go 2000 miles to see.

Miami has South Beach, Calle Ocho & Little Havana, Brickell, The Wynwood Walls, etc. NOLA has the French Quarter, Magazine District and world class food and music. Orlando has Disney, Universal, Busch Gardens and warm enough weather for going to the pool. Frisco OTOH is soulless with strip malls, chain restaurants and endless Tex-Mex. The National Video Game Museum is cool I will give you that, but it was worth about 2 hours for a trip down memory lane and that's about it.

For being the 4th largest, Dallas has a surprisingly small downtown. It feels more like Tysons than a real city.

Frisco is the Short Pump of Dallas.

It's fine, plenty to do, but lacks the draw of many locations. It just feels dull.

Sure but if someone was in town for a football game being played in Short Pump, I would hope they would realize to go into Richmond if they were looking for things to do.

Very well said.....Frisco, TX is simply NOT a destination location that anyone would ever go to without the National Championship game. Sure it is great for the Frisco economy and they embrace it.......but my guess is almost any locality would for a serious infusion of cash in early January.

I have spent a bit of time in the DFW area, it is fun for adults or couples.....but pretty lacking for a family compared to other locations that are also more of destination locations. A mini-vaca to Frisco, TX is a hard sell to the family after you have done it once given other options.

THIS x 1,000.04-rock

I took over 150 flights for work last year. I've already had 4 flights this year and have 5 next week... no issues. But as soon as I book the flight to Frisco, BAM, time to screw with my travel plans.
