Tacoma, WA (1985-1986)

Before anyone says but with Tacoma you have Seattle 35 miles away, with Frisco you have Dallas 30 miles away).

What the hell is a Pocatello, ID?

That actually sounds the most appealing of the six to me personally. Ogden, Utah is maybe my favorite place I’ve ever been and after a quick googling Pocatello, ID looks about how I hoped it did. I’ll take beautiful mountains over stockyards and rodeos all day every day, and especially if you’re talking December or January then the only places that are probably gonna be very appealing to me would be something like that, SoCal, Miami area, or Vegas.

Of course that’s me personally, but I also think some rotation of two or three locations would be great. Especially since they know one team, likely two, certainly looks likely to keep on and on making repeat appearances. I’ll always be stoked for the game of course, but it’d be neat to be able to be more stoked for the location as well.

all you have to do is look at the week before and the week after gameday. the weather was great.

it's just pretty rotten and incredible bad luck that bad day hits us on gameday and travel day.

Average January weather:

Frisco = High 55 & Low 33
Orlando = High 71 & low 51

Frisco pretty much averages a "freezing" low in January.

Huge difference IMO

Frisco = bid to host
Orlando = did not bid to host

MASSIVE difference IMO

SO what other cities did bid last time.....evidently some others did b/c it was a selection process and announcement was made a big deal.

NDSU fans would be losing their minds if the site was moved. They would have to call AAA and order a new TripTik.

Actually, move it to Fargo and put 9000 rabid JMU fans indoors and see how much noise we can generate. It would be BFS west. Move the game time to 2pm. Make Minneapolis the JMU Party Central. Hire 200 buses to move the fans over in the morning and back that night. Man, what a convoy the Purple Ball express would be, Mimosas on the way over, champagne on the way back. Don’t spend a penny in any Fargo bar, store or hotel. Wear your purple to the Viking playoff game the next day, ( sorry I got carried away.)

I thought about that as well, talk about some pissed off fans when their cave is absolutely crawling with purple everywhere and half their fans are having to watch from a bar.

NCAA emailed out this link for feedback on the championship game. Anyone hoping for a new location should fill this out. They have a feedback category for Host City when you put in comments.

I hit them up on poor sight lines, poor security to get into the stadium and lines and then that Frisco sucks as a destination.

Interesting the total fans were only 800 higher this year than last year (JMU versus SDSU), and about 1,300 less than when the same two team met in 2018. I'd guess most of the difference between this year and two years ago when the same two team met was JMU fans. Some certainly could of also been weather.

RE: Should the FCS Location be switced more often?s
Official attendance this year listed at 17,866
Last year NDSU vs EWU was 17,802

The stadium felt fairly full, with scattered pockets of empty seats.

I'm certain we bought a lot more tickets than EWU (they reportedly sold less than 2,000 of their allotment), and had more fans there than they did.

Weather and flight cancellations may have been a factor for both schools. NDSU almost certainly had fewer fans there than the year prior. We brought more than 64 additional fans over EWU.

I could see approx 600 fans from each school (1200 total) being impacted by weather, and it could explain the drop from two years ago.
